The Answer Lies in the Heart of Battle... Prepare Yourself

Street Fighter IV is a fighting game and the next installment in Capcom's long-running Street Fighter series. The coin-operated arcade game was released in Japan on July 18, 2008, and is a planned home release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and on the PC.

While Street Fighter IV will feature 3D rendered characters and backgrounds, the game will still play in traditional 2D, thus creating a "2.5D" effect. (read more)

Street Fighter 4 - Characters

Ha this is so great! The energy blasts (sonic boom, hadoken, etc.) are so beautiful in this game. If I could, I would pull them out of my Computer/TV and make love to them. While you're probably already biting your finger nails and praying to the video game gods that you get one of the first copies, we thought we'd torture you a bit more. Is that a sick gameplay video or WHAT? I can't wait%u2026 I really, really can't wait!

Ken Street Fighter

You are KEN! A part of Guile's team. You are conceited and openly stubborn. You laugh at foes and do so because you can.

If this turns out to be nothing but a rehash cashing in on the nostalgia of wistful aging gamers, at least the graphics will be amaaazing!

Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat

Personally, I've preferred the Street Fighter series hands-down for many reasons. I've played most of the iterations of both the SF and MK games in the arcades on the first day of their respective launches. I prefer the intricate gameplay. Street Fighter was much harder to play for a beginner than Mortal Kombat. I can see how the layman off the street would prefer Mortal Kombat simply for that reason.

Which series do you prefer and why?

Street Fighter

Bryan says:

Street fighter because the fighting is more addictive to me, but my favorite character is on Mortal kombat which is Sub-Zero!!!! (Fatalities are cool too but still street fighter owns all.)

Mortal Kombat

SoulChimera says:

In my opinion, MK2 is one of the best fighting games of all time. The action ws fast-paced, all of the characters were evenly balanced, and there were no unfair, lengthy combos.
