How to Create a Core Wardrobe Capsule

Capsule Wardrobe Essentials for Creating Signature Style
Many fashion experts suggest a classic, timeless, seasonless wardrobe with several key pieces that gets updates with a few pieces each year, but I prefer the variety of capsule dressing.
Each season, you can create a core wardrobe capsule that expresses your signature style and creates a month of outfits or more so that you never get bored with what you're wearing.
Some pieces with be a part of more than one capsule wardrobe, and indeed, they each can be planned to coordinate well together by color and style. This lens will give you the essentials for planning your capsule wardrobe and expressing your signature style.

Signature Style Starter Kit
Capsule Wardrobe Essentials
(1) Identify your Dressing Your Truth type and get rid of anything in your closet that does not match your type. Don't throw them away, but segregate them so that you don't see them in your closet.(2) Make a list of what you have that matches your Dressing Your Truth type and choose two or three colors to use as the base of your new core capsule wardrobe.
(3) Start creating your signature style with as few as six pieces: two shirts, two pairs of pants, a ¾-sleeve cardigan and a dress or skirt, all in colors that mix and match well together. Add more as you are able to do so.
(4) Go slowly as you add to your capsule wardrobe. When you first take the Dressing Your Truth course online and begin shopping with your Dressing Your Truth type in mind, you will experience a learning curve as you integrate all of that new information. Give yourself time to play with your new pieces and see what you might want more of in your core wardrobe.

- Find Your Signature Style
- I took quizzes. I tried to be a winter and then, an autumn. I read what to do if you're an apple or a diamond or a circle. I became a skin care consultant, a wardrobe consultant, a stylist and everything else I thought might help. And always some mysterious something kept me from fully discovering my style! Only in the past year have I felt like I was closing in on it. Most days now when I get dressed, I like what I see in the mirror. I feel beautiful!
- How to Create a Wardrobe You'll Love
- Keep your lifestyle in mind. Here are two ways you might plan for a wardrobe capsule based on your lifestyle...(1) Work Capsule: you might want to have one pantsuit, one skirt suit, a blouse and a shirt with a print or combination of your two colors. (2) Casual Capsule: you might want to choose cardigans instead of jackets and jeans or cargo pants instead of dressier ones.

- Hi Jeanine,
just like Janet, I love the layout of this lens. I can learn a lot from you, definitely.
To add to Janet's question: I can say that I am getting traffic from people who spend a lot of time on my blog (above 15 minutes) which is what I consider quality traffic.
Thanks for sharing your brilliant ideas.
Take care
Oliver

- Hi Oliver! Thanks!! I'm glad you both like the layout. Oliver, I can totally see someone spending that much time on your blog. And now, I see the wisdom of your ten-minute videos. But I am trying to get a handle on this backlink thing & I'm not sure I've got it yet :).

- Jeanine, aloha. Terrific. Love the layout of all your information. How is it that you decided to create lenses as well as your blog? Are you finding that is giving you additional traffic?
Best wishes for a great day. Aloha. Janet

- Hi Janet! Thanks!! Squidoo is considered a web 2.0 type of thing (Hubpages is, too) and from what I read, recently, on Blokube, if it points back to your blog, can help improve Google rank for your blog.

- Hi Jeanine, this is a great lens for anyone looking to organize, simplify and accentuate their wardrobe. I like how you nicely organized the steps you can take to define your personal style. The video adds a lot as well.
Nicely done! I will show this lens to Rosemary (my wife!)
