Caption contest!

To celebrate our new caption contest module, I'm posting 3 examples of it below. (Along with a chance for you to take a few fun potshots at me. Good-natured, I hope :).

If you want to use the caption contest module on your own lens, it's really simple to use. Just upload a photo. Then let people write in funny captions for the photo, or vote for their favorites.

And it doesn't need to be just a joke-around module, either. Imagine uploading your company's logo, and inviting people to submit taglines. Or your new tattoo design, and let people vote up reviews about it. Or a photo of your brand new pet rat, who clearly needs a name!

However you use it, one thing is for sure: It's a fun new way for your readers to connect with your content.

Add it as a treat on existing lenses or... what if you created a suite of straight-up caption contest lenses, with the photo front and center?

Anyway, I'm sure you'll come up with tons of different uses. Have fun!

The back story is pretty funny, too. My friend and her daughter:

Mom: "Lyra, careful of that mushroom. Don't step on it."
Lyra: "OK. It looks like a table!"
Mom: "It does."
Lyra: "Let's have a dinner party!"
Mom: "Let's. You're in charge of who's invited. I'll bring the food."
Lyra: "Alien wants to come. I don't know who else."
Mom: "As long as he doesn't eat the other guests, that's fine with me."
Lyra: "He won't. He'll eat cupcakes."
