Capture Your Family Memories With An Easy To Use Digital Camera

My first camera was a Kodak 110 camera that was so easy to use. Just point and shoot. Of course, sometimes my finger was in the photo. And even when I was younger, my hand would often wobble leading to wiggly pictures. But I'd shoot a roll of film, get a couple of pretty decent photos and be fairly happy.

My husband eventually bought a 35 mm SLR and loved it. I liked it, but it had too many gadgets and choices, so I rarely used it. I much preferred dropping the roll of film into my 110 rather than trying to feed the film into the 35 mm. Yes, sadly, I managed to botch a few rolls of film that way.

In 2000, I finally broke down and bought a fairly good quality digital camera. It was OK, very expensive, and still somewhat complicated. Enough so, I took photos when I had to but didn't really enjoy the process. I left most of the picture-taking to friends and family, so thankfully we have lots of memories recorded on film.

Despite minimal use, that camera developed some issues a couple of years ago. I replaced it with a cheap Panasonic from the neighborhood drug store. NOT a good choice, though my grandkids are happy I did since it is now one of their "play" cameras.

A good friend kept recommending one of the Canon Powershot digital cameras. She is a phenomenal photographer who is quite skilled with her digital SLR complete with extra lenses, but she also loves her easy to use Canon Powershot Digital ELPH.

Knowing me well, she knew I would love it as well, so she prodded a bit and I finally broke down and bought her older well-used and well-loved Canon Powershot A510. I LOVED it. I was in camera heaven. I put it on AUTO, turned it on, pointed and shot. Easy to use and the photos were wonderful quality! Even getting a 4x closeup was a simple as pressing a little button

The door opened easily for both the flash card and the batteries. It was great!

Then I blew it. Instead of keeping it safe and snug in one of the Canon Powershot digital camera cases or some other camera bag, I just kept tucking them into the side pocket of my purse. Sadly, the preview window hit something hard and cracked!

The camera itself still works but I can't preview photos, which I need for my business. So the hand-me-down I bought has found a new home with my senior mom who is enjoying playing around with it and I got to upgrade to my Canon Powershot a 1100 is digital camera.

It's even better! It has an optical image stabilized zoom which means when my hands aren't as steady as I'd like, the photo looks like they were! These digital cameras are perfect for senior citizens and baby boomers like me! :) For that matter, I have a 20-something friend who commented her hand doesn't hold perfectly still so she likes these as well. (Doesn't that make me feel younger!! WOO HOO :) ).
