Best Car Battery Jump Starter Reviews

The Jump-N-Carry has suprised me with its terrific power output. Also, suprising is the fact that although it was charged 2 1/2 months ago, I have had not had to re-charge it. It continues to have a terrific charge of power available!

Unlike another product that I tried, this cold-starts my 6-cyl 1990 4Runner from a dead battery in no time flat. Sometimes I have to hook the negative cable directly to the battery node instead of the block.

The absence of an on/off power switch wasn't as much of an issue as I thought because it comes with plastic covers that clamp on and off pretty easily. The voltometer guage is color-coded, so it isn't hard to figure out when it needs charging.

The slim design makes for easy storage, but also means that it doesn't stand very well on its own without tipping over. I also would have appreciated an extra foot in the cable length (5' instead of the supplied 4').

It feels pretty powerful to carry something like this and not have to hunt down another vehicle for jumping off. I'm definitely pleased with the purchase.

I was intimidated by all the other industrial looking jump starters but this one is so easy to use: just follow the numbers printed right on the starter 1,2,3! This is the starter for people who are uncomfortable messing with car or other batteries.

I used it several times , for a flat tires and to jump my car few times. it came very handy when i needed it . A must have product , you'll never know. Make sure to place your order soon , winter is coming and this product is always on back order.

I got stuck last week with my car's alternator and battery being dead. This unit started my car 4 times that night and I actually used the supply to power the car so I could drive it an extra block to avoid paying a tow charge. It powers my hungry laptop for up to 4 hours between charges. I can't reccomend this power supply more....all aces

I purchased this unit with the hopes of running my laptop and a small photo printer at outdoor art and craft festivals ( of which I am a vendor)Often electricity is not available and many vendors use large generators. My needs were smaller then those vendors and I noticed a friend who kept something like this in their car and thought maybe this could work for me..well..it did! it was so easy to carry to my both and very tiny and quite and sat under a folding table powering the laptop and photoprinter for 6 hours. I was very pleased that this met my needs so inexpensively and unobtrusively! Im extremely happy with my purchase and while I too noticed that one of the displays didnt work , other than that it was all it advertised to be.

What I really like about this unit are two things. First, you can turn the power off which can prevent accidents. Second, to charge it all you need is an extension cord. I love this because I had two other chargers and I had to have their specific wall plugs to charge them up, I have a LOT of wall chargers and they get lost or you can't remember which one goes to which. With the wall plug is it easy, you can charge it anywhere anyplace. Get a $1.99 computer cord and you can juice it up anywhere.

I like the compact and lightweight features of this unit. It has enough power to start a car with very low charge. However, it only has enough juice for 1 or 2 attempts of starting the vehicle. Maybe I have to recharge the unit a few more times to get peak performance.

One gripe is that there is no cord to an outlet. You have to provide an extension cord to charge the unit. Make sure it's a heavy gauge cord too.

I already had a JNC 660 for my truck and wanted to put smaller units in each of our cars. I bought 3 of these, then 2 more for Christmas gifts. They are easy to use and much more dependable than the cheap imports with lots of whistles and bells.... I prefer the larger unit for my dodge 1500 with a V-8 (I've jumped it 5 or 6 times between charges without a problem... electrical trouble...) This smaller unit is great for our Toyota 4 cylinder cars and Chrysler Concorde with a 3.5 6 cylinder. These beat the heck out of jumper cables, and my daughter and wife don't have to ask strangers for help... or wait for AAA.

Now I can think of many situations where it would come in handy, including:

1. Being stuck in an isolated area with a dead battery, feeling a bit nervous about who might come along.
2. Leaving the lights on and having the battery die (and who hasn't done this at least once?).
3. Finding out that a battery is losing its charge and needs a quick boost to get to the auto repair shop.
4. Times when you don't want to wait for AAA or another service to come along and restart that battery.
5. Being in a car without jumper cables and not wanting to ask a stranger for assistance.

Anyway, this can get a car going in record time, saves the time and trouble of using two cars to get one started, etc. This is the niftiest gadget I've used lately!
