The first thing you need to do is to obtain backlinks to your website. I'm assuming you already have your website optimized. That's the easy part. The first thing you can do is start your own Squidoo Lens just like this. Once you have 5 modules added to your page, you will get nice juicy dofollow backlinks to your website.

Many car dealerships don't realize the power of a local viral campaign. During the past 6 months, I got my dealership in Tampa featured on the news on 2 different occasions (see videos below).
The first campaign was all about social networking. We had a local writer write and submit a press release about how Park Automall was utilizing social networking. Within 24 hours a news crew showed up and did a story. It was big news, and it resulted in a huge spike of visitors and sales to the dealership. You can see that newscast here,.

A Simple Inventory RSS Feed Is All You Need

Make A Smart Phone Application for Your Car Dealership Just Like This

I still can't believe that most car dealer website vendors don't offer inventory RSS Feeds to their clients. With RSS feeds, each dealer can update Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and more. The great part is, it's free!

I'm forever searching for new ways to utilize RSS Feeds, and the other day I came across a website that makes widgets called Wowzio.

After playing around with the widgets on my car dealers blogs, I soon discovered how powerful it was. You can see an example of a car inventory widget on this used cars Orlando blog. It makes a great call to action.

Then I realized a smart phone app can be made with this same widget. Technically it's not an app, there is no download required. It's a simple widget on a webpage that looks good on an I Phone or a Google Droid, and it runs just like an app. Each photo displays basic information when hovered over, and when it's clicked it will bring the user directly to the inventory page of the car or truck.

Add This Inventory Widget To Your Lense

It will automate automatically while you sleep!

Copy and paste the URL of your inventory RSS Feed into this module. Just do a module search for "rss feed". You'll find one that says "add your blog
If you don't know where your RSS feed is, contact your website provider. If you don't have one, contact Showroom Logic and we'll set you up. You can do many things with an RSS Feed of your inventory.
If you want to merge 2 or more RSS Feeds into one, simply sign up for Yahoo Pipes. It's free and very cool (see the link below).

This is an example of a feed I added from a used car dealer in Tampa Florida. The cool thing is each vehicle will be clickable. I chose 5 cars to show, but you can pick more or less. Be sure to click "yes' when it asks you if you want to display HTML. Again, this will update for you automatically every time your dealer adds new vehicles to their website.

Yahoo Pipes: Rewire the web: Yahoo Pipes will let you mash 2 or more RSS Feeds Into one. So, if you want you can mash your inventory RSS feed and your blog feed into one.
Feedburner: You can take your existing feed or your new Yahoo Pipes Feed and run it through Feedburner. This will let you do all kinds of cool stuff to it.
