Car DVR Install

There are a lot of reasons to add an auto DVR to your vehicle. We all have seen the footage taken from police dash cameras during high speed chases and traffic stops. Professionals have been using this technology for years, but now advances have made these cameras practical for everyday use. Security and car monitoring are obvious reasons as well as gathering evidence if you are unfortunate enough to have an accident. You don't want to get into a situation where it is your word against another in court. Using an in auto DVR will mean that you can back up your statements. Beyond those practical reasons, these cameras are great for recording scenic road trips or capturing driving conditions.

Having recorded evidence in the unfortunate event of an auto accident can be the difference between getting a favorable judgement in court or paying costly fines!

Installation

There are just a few steps to get your dvr installed. Most of them will simply use a large suction cup and attach to the windshield. This is great for when you want to be able to remove it for storage or safe keeping. For permanent installations, you can use a supplied bracket to screw the camera to the dashboard. The installation location should allow you a clear view for driving.

Most cameras have an on-board rechargeable battery to power the unit, or you can use the car cigarette lighter for power. As an alternative, you can run a power supply directly from the car battery but make sure to use a proper in-line fuse to protect the electronics.

A few test drives will allow you to get the best angle through the windshield and you should be ready to capture your video.
