The Best Car Movies on Blu-ray and DVD
Ranked #4,380 in Entertainment, #53,585 overall
What Do You Think Are The Best Car Movies of All Time?
This list was put together after careful research, study and analysis. I looked at the top results on the internet, put them together and added the results up. Those sources included places like Hot Rod magazine and Edmunds.com. Then I considered the movies with the best Amazon customer reviews, which are an excellent source of information from ordinary movie viewers like you and I. Finally, I consulted my resident movie expert, my husband.
You will see the results of my effort shortly. The odds of this list actually matching a list you might put together are not great. However, these top five car movies are unquestionably excellent car movies and amongst the best of all time.
Some of these films are available on blu-ray and some are not. All of them are available on DVD.
Any one of them would make an excellent gift for the car enthusiast in your life and for the action movie lovers you know. They would be top-rated gift choices for Father's Day and for Christmas. A couple of movies in a basket with popcorn and licorice would be an amazing gift for any young man like my 18-year old son, for his middle-aged father and for my son's grandfather, who has probably seen all the movies and knows and loves all the cars. If you or someone you know loves the thrill of the chase, there's a car movie on this list for them!

SOUND OFF! Is Bullitt the best car movie ever or not?
Here's your chance to speak up. Do you agree with the 1968 movie Bullitt taking the number one spot on this page as the best car movie ever or do you think that honour should have gone to another movie?

Yes, Brenda, Bullitt is definitely the best-ever car movie.
LabKitty says:
Poor Brenda, over here all by herself. Well, we'll come over and keep you company. Pat us on the head. Scratch behind ears. Feed fish.
And change "Bullitt" to "Vanishing Point" (the original, not the remake).
( Stealth kitteh! )
You have to be joking! Bullitt is far from the best-ever car movie. I think...
ggalea says:
Fast & Furious take advantage, far far away...
rms says:
I would say the Christine is the best car movie ever but my husband would choose Vanishing Point so I'm sorry but I disagree with you. :)
Joan4 says:
I would have to pick Smoky and the Bandit, I think. I loved that one!
drifter0658 says:
Although Bullitt was pretty darn good, my choice for nest car movie ever would have to go to Quentin Tarentino's 'Death Proof' ~ A great homage to all the car movies of the 60's and 70's that includes the best car chase scene I've ever watched on film.

- Bullitt was amazing for its time, sort of a groundbreaker. Apparently I don't watch a lot of car movies as I don't recognize many on your list but I did really like Gran Torino. How can you not like Clint Eastwood? The story was really good too.

- Oh boy, I would put Gran Torino at the top of this list; but then, I'm of the "a movie is good if it has a good plot, and a car in it is fine too" persuasion.
