During winter salts are splitting are done all over the road to keep the road ice free. Thus salts prevent any type of car accident that can occur due to ice. This is the positive effect of the salt. The negative effect is rust act as a catalyst for rusting. To car is prone to rusting in the winter season.

The salt, dust and dirt have the tendency of holding the water or moisture thus causing with the rise of temperature. So it leaves a perfect situation for rusting. It often start attacking where it is easy to attack the metal directly, for example scratches in the body, bared body where paint has got removed.

For car rust treatment you need to examine your car weekly to see whether there is any spot for rust or not. By applying rust removers it is much easier to clean the rusted area when it is just a small spot. Sometimes rust occur in the strange area where usually we don't look at. Once you are planning to buy a second hand car investigate well before buying. Never buy cars which are more than one year old. Since they are old the firmness of the metal will decrease so they are prone to rusting. Also never buy cars which have undergone accident (however small it may be).

Because during accident definitely the paint has got removed form the metal body and rust will definitely attack this bared area.

Even if the person who is selling the car is saying that he has repaired the car from the expert don't buy the car. Because though the expert has repaired the car still rust will take hold.

So always carefully examine the car before buying it. If not then it may cost you thousands of dollars in repairing in long run.
