Caramelized Bananas Recipe
I'll show you how quick and easy this banana recipe is...
- Serves: 1
- Prep Time: 5 min (or less if you're ninja - quick)
- Total Time: 10 - 15 min
I'll provide you the easy step by step procedure on how to make these banana fritters. By the way if you would look back at the ingredients list, you can see that I didn't quantify anything. That's because the quantity would actually depend on your preference. But for this recipe I would guide you to a selfish serving for yourself.
For a quick description about what kind of food it is, just look at the title. It's just a banana that got caramelized and turned into a snack or dessert or whatever meal you want it to be. Without further ado, I bring to you...CARAMELIZED BANANA! *audience clapping*
Ingredients
- 1 banana (preferrably the short and fat one)
- cooking oil (enough for deep frying the banana)
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar (or more if you want the banana to be excessively coated w/ sugar)
Instructions
1. On a small deep frying pan, heat the oil on high for 2 min. then lower the heat to low.
2. While your pan is minding its own business, go ahead and slice the banana. No rules on this one, slice it however you like.
3. Carefully drop the banana pieces onto the pan and put the heat up on low-medium and just let it be for a minute or two.
4. Put the brown sugar in and continuously mix it so that the sugar won't settle at the bottom of the pan and would cover the banana pieces instead. Do this for another 3 minutes.
5. Once you're satisfied with how it looks or the bananas are now all covered with sugar, turn the heat off and place the banana pieces on paper towels to remove excess oil.
6. ENJOY!
Isn't caramelizing bananas easy?

Another tip, aside from eating these caramelized bananas alone as a snack or dessert, you can actually use it for to top your pancakes, waffles, cupcake, cake, etc. Enjoy it in anyway you want! It's yours anyway.
Gimme some banana lovin'!

- Do you really have a banana tree outside your window. Some of my friends from the islands did, they said that they couldn't get over the fact that in this country we actually have to pay for bananas. One variation of this is to just bake a banana with a little brown sugar and butter added.
