Caravan Steps

One essential piece of equipment that everyone with a caravan needs is a caravan step. This is because caravans are too high off the ground for a normal person to be able to easily get in and out of them without at least one step.

The most basic type of caravan step is a simple plastic step stool. These have the advantage of being very cheap to buy and lightweight. The disadvantages are that any type of hard plastic that is exposed to the weather much of the time, as your caravan step would be, becomes brittle and prone to breaking - not good if it breaks when you have just put your weight on it. So if you opt for a plastic step you should ideally replace it every year. Another problem can be that these are so lightweight that they can blow away if left outside in windy conditions and some become slippery when wet.

A better choice for a single step could be a steel or lightweight aluminium one with a rubber top tread. These are slightly more expensive to buy but are much more durable and long-lasting.
