cardio gym equipment
Ranked #44,027 in Sports & Recreation, #995,479 overall
i dont know if its the size of the equipment, the size of the people or the fear of the unknown but a gym can be a really daunting place to go. When i first joined i found the equipment was the hardest thing to get my head around. This article will guide you through some of the main cardio equipment in gyms including rowers, treadmills exercise bikes and elliptical trainers. Which will hopefully help you focus on your cardio activity.
Id strong advise that you take a health check from either your gym or your doctor to ensure you are fit enough to excercise. It may seem obvious what the gym equipment does, but please take head and speak to an instructor for full trainining. Because failing to do so could lead to an injury or permanent damage.

Exercise Bikes
There are many styles of exercise bike available and is quite easy to hop on and get going. If youre starting with cardio, i would suggest you use this as your first choice. Exercise bikes are great if youre looking to train the heart and lungs and legs. Be sure to check the saddle is comfortable and will allow you to get the maximum from your exercise. If you are not sure, get help from a trainer.
Elliptical Trainer
An elliptical trainer replicates the movements of a cross country skier and is essentially a cross between a treadmill and an exercise bike. Cross trainers put greater focus on the arms as well as the legs and cardiovascular system. Make sure you stand up sraight when using the cross trainer to achieve the best results.
Rowers
I have achieved my best results using the rower and because of that its my personal favourite. The rower gives you a great cardio workout also covering arms, legs and body. As mentioned before please do make sure you get some help from a trainer before you take on this equipment because poor technique will not deliver the results you could get and also injuries could cause back injuries.
Treadmill
If i were to choose a run in the park or a treadmill run i would personal pick the park. But if the weather is not great then you should consider the treadmill option. A treadmill trains the legs, lungs and heart. Remember to start off slow and build up and when youre ready to finish slow down slowly. Avoid holding onto the support bars because it wont deliver results.
