His dedication to providing educational tools and training strategies has helped many in their quest to make millions in real estate investing.

All About Sheets

Carleton Sheets was born in Illinois to conservative parents. He and his family, including a younger brother, moved to Ohio where he embarked on his first foray into self employment. He wanted extra money and decided to do some odd jobs in the neighborhood including lawn mowing and newspaper delivery. He assessed his needs to accomplish the jobs more efficiently then proceeded to borrow money to purchase a bike and a lawn mower which he paid back from his earnings. This was his first lesson in no down payment business opportunities which bodes well for his future.

Sheets took a position with Armstrong Cork Company in California after college where he stayed for eight years. During that time he relocated from California to North Carolina and eventually to Georgia. During his employment with the company he met and married his wife and they had two children. Deciding he needed to expand his career, he accepted a position with Lykes Pasco Packing Company in Florida as Director of Marketing. However, his inexperience in this position led the company to fire him.

All About Investing

Sheets took the opportunity at this point to pursue other endeavors. He explored real estate, getting his license and journeying into commercial sales. His first attempt at selling an apartment building failed but he was determined to push through. Even though he had no money or credit to purchase the building himself, he employed his no down payment philosophies in this venture. He negotiated an agreement with two investors where he brokered the deal but they put up the money. The tactic paid off for everyone as after refurbishing the building it sold at a profit.

Seeing the potential in such endeavors, Sheets continued on this path for the next several years. During this time he garnered a reputation for being highly successful in investing and accumulated almost five hundred rental properties. He used creative financing strategies throughout and found it to be highly lucrative. In his years as an investor he has been involved with over $50 million in real estate ventures.

All About Teaching

Sheets also had a vision of sharing his knowledge with others who may want to pursue investing opportunities. He felt his success and unique business practices would benefit others who wanted to break into real estate. He began teaching local classes and wrote several courses for both the National Association of Realtors and the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute.

He also began writing his self study programs including his most famous No Down Payment program. He partnered with the Professional Education Institute in 1984 to help promote his program via various media including magazines, lectures, radio and television. Now his courses are available online at no charge to the consumer under the name Real Profit$ in Real Estate. Sheets is now semi retired but continues to devote some time to investing and teaching.
