The First Squidoo Car Movie Lens

A video documentary for the rising Nascar racers, this video documents their lives up to their present careers.

In the recent years, NASCAR has exploded in popularity and as that growth has occurred, NASCAR drivers have become recognized icons for the sport. This collection chronicles the life stories of some of NASCAR's up and coming drivers.

Using the popular A&E formula each half-hour episode delves pretty deeply into the lives of the drivers and gives fans all the information they might want. Drivers profiled include Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and other, lesser-known drivers. A couple of episodes cover teams of multiple drivers.

Honestly, I did not enjoy the series that much. Though I like NASCAR, I just cannot think how or why I'd want to know anything about these guys. Though quite interesting for the fanatic, i am not sure the series will appeal to all NASCAR fans.

I must say though that one episode about up and coming African- American drivers did get my interest. NASCAR up to date is largely a white man's sport. This series did some nice peek on how NASCAR might evolve in the future as a sport for a more diverse crowd.

Video and audio were okay but not remarkably great.

It's funny though, but I was expecting any of the top three NASCAR favorites to at least be featured in the film, namely Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, and Jeff Gordon. I know that every NASCAR fan expects any one of the three to be in the season 1. Again, maybe they don,t fit in the group "up and coming".

All in all, I guess it was a good attempt driven to appeal to a small group of NASCAR enthusiasts.

I have seen the American version of this movie and I have the French versions (1 to 3) in DVD. A lot of my friends have loved the movie, but I have yet to see the European versions.

Taxi 1:Marseilles (France): Daniel, dreams of being an F1 driver. So when he switches jobs from being a pizza boy to a taxi driver, he sees a step closer to his dream. He gets in trouble however and must help a loser of a police man to catch same nasty German robbers.

Taxi 2: Marseilles, France: A Japanese ambassador visits the city to view the city's anti-gang tactics. After the Japanese Yakuza kidnaps the ambassador, French policeman Emilien must again team up with F1 driver wannabe, Daniel to save him. This time he is fighting not only for his Department's dignity but for the well being of his girlfriend Petra.

Taxi 3: This third installment opens up with three problems. Our crazy speed demon, Daniel, is torn in a relationship crisis. The police and it's captain are being bugged by a chinese reporter and Emilien just found out his wife is pregnant. Add a crazy bunch of thieves calling themselves The Santa Clause Gang and you are sure to get havoc. After a string of mistakes caught by their pest of a corespondence, Daniel and amazing taxi decides to help out.

Left and right there are differing opinions as to wether this is a good Nascar Movie or not. As for me I found it entertaining so I absolutely feel that it is worth the watch.

Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a NASCAR stock racing sensation who because of his "win at all costs" approach is hailed by many as a hero. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo known to their fans as "Shake" and "Bake". Together the two finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When the two are challenged by a proud French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) "Shake" and "Bake" for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must fight with his inner demons to be able to prove himself and be the number one racer.

I cant wait to see my favorite cars transformerized. Too bad Bumble bee can't keep the VW Beetle look. Oh well, I guess him being a Camaro will do.
