Following the massive success of TWD's T1 Audio brand last year, the R&D team has been busy adding more new products to the line up of affordable audio.

What started out as a wiring, connection and amplifier range in 2008 has now been added to with a new line up of products to deliver a 'one stop shop'. The T1 brand has expanded into the following three categories:

1.An installer range of products that includes wiring kits, ISO installer wiring harnesses, fascia panels and much more.

2. A full T1 car audio range with everything from co-axial and component full-range speakers to amplifiers, subwoofers as well as powered and non-powered bass boxes.

3. Head unit range. This is currently being expanded to include affordable double DIN and other multimedia products.

The TWD budget audio brand has just been expanded with the new addition of full-range speakers and subs. Last year the brand hit the market with amplifiers and install accessories so delivering speakers was a natural progression for this successful line. Clearly aimed at the first time ICE fan, the T1 range is certainly promising hugh value performance for the money. This is our first at 17cm component set: T1-625 as part of the affordable line-up. Starting with the woofer, it's a polypropylene cone, using a 25mm voice coil, on a butyl rubber surround. This is mated to a 25mm silk dome tweeter fed from the T1 crossover (using 18db/octave slopes) to give a natural sound reproduction.

It won't be any news to any dealers ears that double DIN head units are continuing to be extremely popular. Some manufacturers even claim they're selling their units as quickly as they can make them. It's easy to see why though when you look at the majority of manufacturer's flagship models. With competitive pricing, customers are getting great value for money as the units come packed with more features all the time. This makes them something of the ultimate accessory when it comes to customers after multi media solutions, so it pays to keep up to date with the manufacturers latest offerings. As we've said before too, from an installers point of view the fact that these double DIN headunits are becoming more geared to running reversing cameras, TV tuners and the like means they also provide excellent up-sell opportunities. So with that in mind, find out below just what the manufacturers have to offer

The KW-AV820 from JVC offers customers a very unique security solution in the fact it's the only double DIN unit to include a detachable front. Another trick feature is that AV controls can be activated by simply moving your hand in front of the Motion Sensor. As with all these units connectivity with Apple products is a key, customers able to play iPod or iPhone audio and visual with two way control, either from the device itself or the headunit.

Digital audio or video can also be played from other USB devices with the benefit of full speed transfer. An additional benefit of the KW-AV820 is that iPods can also be charged off the unit. The built in Bluetooth Wireless Technology provides hands-free calls and audio streaming on the road and customers can also enjoy DAB radio with an optional tuner, which could be a good up-sell for installers.

Other nice touches are that the on screen keys appear with an approaching hand, while illuminations turn off when listening to music. Even GUI keys black out during movies to allow full concentration on the screen. While it lacks the navigation side of things its fine audio features and unique security solution should still keep the interest of customers.
