Beach Music n. - music style made popular in the Carolinas, it combines many styles that may include but are not limited to Rhythm and Blues, Soul Music, and a little bit of Disco. Basically anything you can "Shag" to (The Shag, or Carolina Shag, is a dance style that has been around almost forever.

I was 14 or 15 (48 years ago !)when I used to hang out at the Atlantic Beach (NC) Pavilion and watching the dancers. It wasn't long I was there every afternoon and dancing with who ever was bored enough to help and skinny kid. All I can say is it is the ONLY dance and North Myrtle beach, SC is the only place to go to experience the "real" thing. See ya there.

Beach Music is the best. SOS Spring and Fall Migration at North Myrtle Beach is a celebration that if you have not experienced, you surely need to. I've been going for 10 years and it's like nothing else I've found. I will be missing it this year, but will be there in heart and mind. It occurs at the end of April and towards the end of September. Check into it ang GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I love beach music! I love Coastline Band! I love shagging the night away and closing down the clubs. I think Bo is a wonderful guy along with Jim, Mark, Chad, and many others. I have always loved beach music but really got into last fall at SOS. I am now hooked! See you at the Beach Music Awards.
