"The Barefoot Executive...the definitive resource for work-at-home women"
I first discovered her while we were watching Alejandro Reyes, on his weekly show about social media and I noticed her vibrant energy right away. She is inspiring, talented, brilliant, and so personable I wanted to create this lens to share with you about this extraordinary business women who is evidently positioned to lead a new era of executive women into a professional living right from the home front. When I noticed Carrie, I rushed to follow her on Twitter @barefoot_exec and she corresponded with me to thank me for following her. Since then she has been the highlight of my work day.
Having a conversation with her, you feel as if you are the only person that matters to her. That is an extraordinary attribute in itself but, did I mention she has over 1200 followers on twitter alone? How anyone takes time to nurture a personal relationship with such a vast following is nothing short of a miracle and evidence of a genuine passion for her dedication to provide the new remote workforce with exceptional leadership.

Blueprint To Financial Freedom - Keynote Speaker
Photo Left To Right: Terry Wygal, Perry Lawrence, Carrie Wilkerson

It was my honor to attend the most motivational, informational, and inspiring event of the year in Houston Texas, November 14-16, 2008
I enjoyed hearing countless business tips and secrets from each and everyone of the speakers as well as meeting and brainstorming with participants during lunches and after the event each day.
Talk about PRICELESS!
And, to top it all off, I met, worked beside, and got to know my previously 'virtual' mentor, The Barefoot Executive herself. Now, you know how much this devine diva has inspired me before, I can not put into words how remarkable she is and how she is 10 TIMES more beautiful, inside and out, in person.
She is extraordinary!
And... She celebrated SQUIDOO during her presentation. She shared about this lens, introduced me to everyone, and made the whole experience REMARKABLE!
The Blueprint To Financial Freedom ( #b2ff ) November 2008 Event continues to be one of the most talked about business networking events this year. Terry Wygal, Carrie Wilkerson, John Di Lemme, Stephen Beck, Paul Evans, Perry Lawrence, Jeff Vacek, and Larry Goins (in order of appearance), rocked Houston Texas and an audience from all around the world in a three day action packed informational extravaganza!

An extraordinary speaker line up! Best conference this year! Astonishingly informational! Terry Wygal has raised the bar for informational networking events!

Carrie Wilkerson has Optimized Social Media
Traditional workforces require traditional leadership. One of the challenges in the evolution of the remote workforce is having the same level of leadership that the traditional workforce has while nurturing the obvious upside of working from home.
Carrie seems to have the knowhow to translate the experience she has had in the corporate world, as well as experience as an educator and in direct sales, to create exceptional quality leadership for the emerging remote workforce to thrive and experience successful professional careers in an ever changing landscape.

This is what Wikipedia says about Social Media

Who Is The Remote Workforce?

An office at home has countless advantages. The 'perks' of corporate life cannot hold a candle to the advantages of working close to family and having the freedom to make your own hours. The cost savings alone (commute, wardrobe, office lunches, to name a few) is substantial.
Until now, the primary drawback of the work from home concept has been leadership. There are many books, audios, motivational speakers, mentors, and throughout time we have devoured them all and attempted to implement every tip and tool and attribute. There has always been something missing from this mix and match self help smorgasbord.

Pros and Cons
There are debates about the preferrences of the traditional office compared to the new work from home variety. What are the advantages of each choice? What are the disadvantages of the traditional office or the home office?
What do you think?
Are you more of a traditional office person or do the advantages of working in your own personal space feel more appealing to you?
Comment on both sides of the discussion if you have thoughts to share about the traditional or the new remote office options.

Remote Office (home office) Pros and Cons

It depends what your circumstances are and what your goals are as a person. For me it is a wish to be my own man again. With a remote office at least that gives you that choice.

I have worked both in an office environemnt and now at home with our business. I much prefer working at home, I get more done by 9am than most people do all day! I love the quiet peaceful environment, besides, I love working in my PJ's LOL (but shhhhh, don't tell our customers ok?)

well...@ the moment I don't make enough from home to consider it a full time job, altho I am not employed anywhere else and DO spend as much as 16 hrs/day working on various internet affiliate pursuits, so I say "remote" office... I can work from bed, the desk or the screened porch depending on mood and weather

Quicker decision making and implementation plus the ability to be able to determine your own goals and direction are definitely pros for those of us who run our own business. The con can be the isolation.
Posted September 24, 2008
Claudette Chenevert says:
Both have advantages and disadvantage. It depends on the job and the person. To work remote, you need self-motivation and the right equipment. Distractions can be an issue if you don't have a dedicated place to work on a daily basis. Traditional provides the social aspect that remote doesn't (most of the time). Know yourself and the jobs requirement before choose either one. I love working from home personally but have a very active social life.
