Advantage of buying a brand new or used vehicle
There's a lot of issue and question if a buyer is in the process of buying a car. Should you buy a brand new vehicle or a used vehicle? To choose I laid out the advantages of both below. Always bear in mind that buying a new one has a lot of advantage but by weighing out the pros of getting a used car can be in many cases can be more to your advantage.
Advantage of buying a new vehicle
Vehicle Warranty - the car warranty is untouched, given directly from the brand new car dealer.
Its not Used - a new car has not been into accident or flooded, hasn't been mistreated by unknown evildoers, doesn't smell funny, has seen no wear or tear, and comes with a clean history that includes only being driven off the line from the dealer's lot.
Safety - as vehicle safety law a becoming stringent in the US. Automakers are force to change the way vehicles safety features are being built. Additional safety system are being added like side curtain airbags, adaptive cruise control and brake assist are becoming more prevalent on less expensive vehicles as their associated costs come down.
Latest Gizmos - new cars this days are packed with the latest and most modern geeky tech. Navigational system, multimedia interface are constantly improving and evolving.
Higher fuel efficiency and lower emission - cars are largely getting more fuel efficient, even while simultaneously getting more powerful. The newest crop of diesels is cleaner than ever before, and choices in the hybrid segment are growing, too, if that's your thing.
Financing - bank are offering low interest rate for new vehicle because the vehicles worth has not yet been hit by depreciation. Keep in mind that, when the lower APR still applies to a larger sum, your payments or total cost may still be higher. But if you plan to finance, check your deals before buying. The cheaper car might not turn out to be the better deal in the long run.
Maintenance - for some brand new car dealers they include free maintenance for a certain time or mileage.
Advantages of buying a used vehicle
Price - a used vehicle is going to be less expensive. The relative advantage of the used-car price can also allow a buyer to step up to a nicer model.
Depreciation - car lose its value as the passing month and mile. A depreciation happens right away, some car models can lose 30 percent or more of their value in the first year.
Insurance Rates - Like financing, insurance rates will be affected by the age of a car, but in this case the used vehicle tends to be less expensive. A little bit of pre-purchase research will save you from insurance sticker shock, no matter which vehicle you choose.
