Cas Haley & Woodbelly - A Dream Concert
My family watched him make his television debut on the reality show, America's Got Talent. In a pre-show profile, Cas talked about his lifelong dream of becoming a musician (and encouraged by his musician parents), his desire to provide for his wife and young son, and his wife's loving support of his dream. The audience fell in love with this talented, stay-at-home dad with the warmest smile and incredible voice.
Cas walked on stage and entertained us. Actually, we were mesmerized by his entire performance. Cas shines when he's singing, and we had wished the show transformed into The Cas Haley Talent Hour. A true entertainer who not only feels his music but is able to make his audience feel it too.
At the first note, his body becomes in synch with the music, swaying back and forth, his foot jamming up and down, and his mouth cradling the sounds. It's the look of someone in total immersion and love of his work. Passionate and talented.
His unique sound combines rock and reggae music, with acoustic and electric guitars. He blew the audience away with his renditions of Sting's Walk on the Moon, Lionel Richie's Easy, and sounded like one of UB40 in their combined performance.
While AGT wasn't his first 'gig', it did introduce us to Cas. He is humble, gracious, and talented.
Cas released his self-titled, debut album in February 2008. Available through iTunes, the album became #1 in the iTunes Reggae Charts. When released as a Best Buy exclusive, the album climbed to the #5 spot in total sales ... in its first week.
What could make a better charity concert than by an artist who understands the meaning of fulfilling a dream?

I hope you enjoyed your virtual music concert with Cas Haley and Woodbelly. I wrote this virtual concert lens for the Squidoo Activists' Concert Series for Charity.My charity choice is KIVA, an organization which helps others to help themselves out of poverty.
