Casio PX120 Privia Digital Piano - Finally a Piano

I finally have a piano of my own. I bought the Casio PX-120 Privia Digital Piano.

When I was in school we had to take a music class so I chose piano. I was very excited on the first day of class because I was finally going to learn how to play the piano.

I had visions of becoming the next famous concert pianist. Maybe I would play in Carnegie Hall. My fans would bring me roses and I would receive standing ovations. Well, my visions soon turned into reality. As I walked into the classroom I discovered that I was one student out of thirty and there were only 5 pianos. Each day we got to play for about five minutes. The rest of the time in class we had to do our homework for other classes. By the end of the term I couldn't even play one song.

Now, I have the chance to finally learn to play with my Privia PX120.

What Makes it Better Than the Others?

I bought the Casio PX-120 Privia Digital Piano so I could finally learn how to play the piano. With today's economy I couldn't afford a baby grand piano or an acoustic piano but the Casio was in my budget range.

I was definitely not disappointed by the sound of the Privia PX120. It has a rich sound with a grand piano keyboard touch in a lightweight portable digital piano. The Casio has an advanced AIF sound source which gives you 128 note polyphony that provides you with full musical expression where notes reverberate naturally without being cut off during high speed passages and during performances that require intensive damper pedal operations.

Also because the Casio Digital Piano is light, I am able to take it out of the house. I usually take it out to go over someone's house and practice. It makes it really nice that I can pick it up and fit it into the car with no problems!!

Is The Casio PX120 Privia Digital Piano Really That Good?

the reviews are in!

Before you spend any money on a digital piano, it is a good idea to hear what others think of the product. Read what actual product owners are saying about the Casio PX120 Privia Digital Piano.

We bought the Casio PX120 Privia Digital Piano mainly for our 6 year old daughter, who has been asking to play piano since she was two years old. We do not have the space or weight allowance for a real piano and needed the next best thing. We researched several months for "weighted key" digital pianos and are very pleased with the look, size (small and lightweight) and sound of this piano - perfect for our beginner!

As a university music student, my main use for this instrument is for practicing with headphones for long periods of time. My goal was to find the instrument within my budget that would most accurately reproduce the feel of an acoustic piano, as practicing for hours on non-weighted keys was really hurting my finger development and subsequent transitions to the real thing.

After reading a few reviews, I decided to roll the dice and try the PX-120... and I was not disappointed. The action is firm and realistic, and doesn't feel cheap or only semi-weighted. These keys are heavy and feel just like a real acoustic piano. The keyboard itself is amazingly slim, but not flimsy or annoyingly small.

The Casio Privia PX-120 is a perfect budget digital piano. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about the feel between digital and acoustic pianos and I must say that the PX-120 does an outstanding job replicating the sound and feel of a real grand piano. There may not be many fancy features but it gets the job done. I'm a little upset how there is no 1/4" audio output or no USB output as well but I'll live.

Overall, the Privia PX-120 is a solid digital piano for any player of all skill levels.
