Unique Ideas for Handmade Halloween Costumes

I have always wanted to be different from everyone else, which is why homemade halloween costumes have always been my "norm". I have 4 children who up until this year have each had their halloween costumes created at our kitchen table. Not only did it save us tons of money, but they had creative costumes that everyone made a fuss over, and we also had some awesome quality time making them together! It was a very sad day indeed when my kids asked me this year if they could...gulp...purchase a ready made costume from the store. But of course I said yes, and said to myself that this stage will only last a couple of years until they become teenagers and are ready to express their own personalities again instead of mimicking everyone in their classes at school. So since I am not investing my time into creating costumes this year, I will throw a few minutes into telling strangers how to make easy fun costumes!
