Do you know why boys find castle toys so fascinating?

That is a good question isn't it? They do you know, find them captivating I mean. If you've ever had the privilege to watch a young boy at play with a castle toy you'll understand what I'm saying. It's not uncommon to see a smile from ear to ear and a wonderful gleam in their eyes when they first unwrap their castle toys on Christmas morning or for their birthday. If you're a parent, or even a close relative like a grandparent, you'll know that it's a joy to watch your child tear off the paper and squeal in delight at the sight of their newest toy. This seems to be magnified when little boys open a majestic castle toy, flags waving on the parapets and grand insignias displayed on the battlements. If you haven't ever seen this then you'll just have to take my word for it, little boys love castle toys!

I am not sure why it is that little boys find castles and toy knights and dragon toys so fascinating. I have a theory though and I'll share it with you! There really must be a good reason for it because every one I've seen is really enthusiastic about their toy castle, even girls seem to love them although I would have thought that it's kind of a boys only toy. I guess boys play with dolls too, or so I've been told! Anyway back to my theory.

I remember reading somewhere that boys have some amazing inborn desires deep within their subconscious, even from when they are very young. I don't mean a desire for the acquiring of things as such but more altruistic desires like the need to rescue a princess and the overriding need to emerge victorious in an ordeal overcoming major hurdles and obstacles, that sort of thing. If that is so then it may just clue us in as to why boys are so enthralled with castle toys.

If guess if you looked at it from a psychological point of view one might argue that deep within every little boys psyche is the subconscious desire to have their miniature toy knight in shining armour battle and defeat that two-headed copper dragon toy whilst saving the screaming princess! I know that sounds a bit ridiculous but that's my theory and I believe it fits these unconscious desires perfectly. Is it any wonder then that our little princes and princesses spend hours and hours lost in play with these amazing miniature models?

Keep an eye out for this surprising phenomenon

So keep your eye out, so to speak, for this surprising phenomenon it shows up more than you think. Next time you see your little boys going crazy at the latest Harry Potter movie, screeching with delight, you may just realise that my theory is correct! It's because of Harry's valiant deeds, the mystery of Hogwarts castle and of course the winning of his latest princess. See it's all there, win the princess, battle the evil monsters and emerge victorious.

You can take advantage of all of this of course! Buy your little boy some castle toys for his birthday or for Christmas, watch his eyes light up and watch as you become that little bit cooler in his eyes.
