If you've been playing castle age on your facebook account for a while now and is looking to up your game, here are some helpful tips and tricks! They will help to improve your game, either through increasing your efficiency in obtaining what you want, or making it easier for you to learn and work on things you never knew existed.

Jahanna the Priestess of Aurora

As you can see you have 100 stamina hits and 200 energy heals on this particular boss.

Tailing it down is 50 stamina hits and 100 energy heals. This boss does involve the use of divine power mechanics, so it would be good to get extra items to pierce through that. Also, the item drops includes some which have more decent divine power spreads for future use.

If you need additional piercing a good way to start is to get the beginner set of demi power divine power items that will give you a small boost. Most of the demi will have it like Azeron, Ambrosia or Aurora.

Divine Gear

It looks like an entire new line of gear will be slowly rolled out. Currently there are three items, with two of them coming from top tier monsters but also giving the most divine points. The one from Ambrosia is more easily achieved for other people without access to the higher level tier monsters like Aurora or Jahanna

Update: More and more divine items are rolling out, be it through monster or demi points!

Aurora has also just gotten her new divine item, leaving the stamina demi power left for people to obtain quick demi points.

Castle Age Festival

New General Maalvus

From 30 favor points at your friendly oracle

This one has special abilities that is a mixture of the usual + crit as well as a multiplier attack. At max it has a critical hit of +3% and a power attack multiplier of 3 (It starts at 2 for the first few levels). This is good news for people who have been playing for a long time with a lot of energy and stamina to expend at each time! Crit bonus is good too! None of the equipment helps towards his special abilities which is what you are really going for so there is probably no point going for the rest unless you are a castle age perfectionist! (why do I say this? even if you have say 700 atk or 7000 atk, an extra 1 point of atk on your general is unlikely to change the tide of the battle!)

Valhalla Air Elemental

The loot tables look to be a difficult set to get.

The multiple power attacks are available for him so you won't have to click as much. While I am unsure of those at lower levels at level 250 and up you appear to get twice the 20x attack. There doesn't seem to be a 50 Stamina Attack unless you're using the lower attack coupled with a general ability.

It does take a lot of damage to get anything decent. 7 Million only gives you a small chance at the purple epics, and you're likely to get the blues. 10 million is the benchmark for an epic after a few Valhalla tries...

Arena Season 3 Finished Items

Here are some of the stuff you get at the end of arena season 3. Due to the entirely new format, the way things are calculated are pretty different and some people complained about favor point spamming. That said, it was a good run and even if you don't end up getting the Elemental unit, the other stuff are still pretty good too! Attached was some of the things on the season completed screen.

The latest season of the castle age arena is out! This time it is in guild battle format and Gehenna is the prize at 110/110. This round would encourage people to increase health points, as well as be an incentive for people to join guild battles. This seems to be so as it appears you need to be in a guild to have access to the cleric class, but this is as yet unconfirmed.

Here's a tip for those of you rushing to get points in the final few days before the arena season is over and you will no longer be able to obtain those limited edition arena gear. You can if you are above level 50 and have about 1 billion in castle age cash, go and make a guild for yourself and change your class. You can pick the class that best suits your objective.

Common ones are Mages or Cleric since they can help you win a round more easily, giving you the 25% stats bonus for winning a round. If you need special abilities you can buy the latest Annihilator chest that allows you to convert favor points into guild abilities. Season 3 has some of the best gear in slots.

Corvintheus

He has become a boss to fight!

He drops the best magic in the game currently at the time of his release. But don't expect it to be easy to get as it is a legendary drop! His other gear are okay, good if you do not have the Best in Slots, or if you invade or war duel a lot as they have good but not best stats but low drop rate.

Bahamut unit

Bahamut, the volcanic dragon is a farmable (though it will take ages compared to say orc gladiators or cronus) from collecting the different volcanic crystals which are dropped by quite a bit of the high level monster bosses. It has a value of 75/75 that is certainly not shabby!

Castle Age Iphone

I have just downloaded it onto my iphone and will start to test it out. Pictures may follow soon or even a brand new page! The app is linked to your facebook account unlike the Mafia Wars equivalent. A brief look through shows a promising application that works.

You will also be given an army code which I presume makes it easier to add people on your phone.

Arielle General

She's not a spectacular general, but not too bad either. Getting Arielle might not be wise until you have lots of energy to spare and throw around.
Expect to spend a heap load of energy to get everything! It does have some correlation with your army size so try to add some friends before or during the chain! She is obtained once you have successfully rescued 10 princesses, although her equipment will require more work on your part.

Arena 2 or Arena ii

The full name should be arena vanguard season 2

Interestingly the gear obtained from arena, besides the Plate which serves very well as a top tier item, the rest of the items actually transform Shino, one of the generals you obtained when you were younger, into a semi decent looking general, it tops out to obtain about 3 stamina points while Shino is leading and an extra +1 crit rate, and average stats at about 18/22 (18) or so. They may even adopt this concept for other old and antiquated generals in the future which may be very interesting.

I was quite far from the next tier so I am rather okay with the items I got in the end. They all make a nice addition for Wars as well as Invasions. Time to wait for the next one!

And it comes to an end, at least in about 20 hours at the time of this writing.
If you have time, you should squeeze in a few more shots now, maybe you won't get the Ragnarok unit, but hey you'll get nice gear for warring.

Season 2 of Arena is out and that is great news and happy tidings for quite a bit of people who felt stiffed by Genesis the 100 100 unit as well as the Zarevok Cleaver which should have won quite a bit of duels as well as wars. Once again the battle looks to be favoring the Defense stat just like the previous one, except much more so this time as Arena 2 DOES NOT use your stamina, again, it does not use your stamina at all. Instead you have a pull of 150 arena tokens in which you use to wage gladiatorial combat in a format similar to wars and thus dependent on the generals as well as the items and gear you have. Hyperion is a good poor man's choice if you have been unlucky in rolling for generals. Arena tokens regenerate at a fixed rate unless you wish to use an Oracle reload and you get a bit of them from killing the new generation monsters like Bahamut. Have fun!

You can also quickly obtain the one time only limited edition favor point mystery gift. The minimum points should be 20 points which is what I got. You can only do it once though, but either way it helps towards buying lots of stuff. One possible prize is 1000 favor points.

Suri: New General

The new general Suri is out and works as the poor man's ambrosia. Ambrosia at max level is 2.25 times as strong as the Suri special power at max level. It gets better the more generals you have. For those requests for direct links you can try the following:

Elin Limited Time Mystery Hero

Elin can no longer be obtained, so for those who have already obtained her that's great! For those who did not, there is always the next few generals to come along!

Just got the new general elim, which requires 8 items to combine. Don't worry about extra gifts, they have a purpose as items for Elim. She is the new Zarevok sort of monster slayer. Currently it is still back in vogue for a limited time which is running out. The end of the day of 9 July would be the last time to get her as a general.

Hyperion Hero

Hyperion is a general created by collecting all the three virtues and forming them into one through alchemy and is much easier to obtain than soul crusher (soul crusher being a legendary drop)

The sword happens to be the Virtue of Justice, and is a really decent weapon when attacking wars such as war of the red plains.

His special attack is to improve War performance which should be about an additional 3 points at max level.

Red Plains: War of the Red Plains

Looks like in addition to introducing the war battle concept they now have a monster raid that allows you to use "tactics" to fight the battle. It has amongst its loot drops the ability to alchemize out a new general whose name is Hyperion as well as an upgrade for your Lotus Ravenmore Death Touch Gauntlets that is if you have this rare drop. With a legendary drop nether soulstone you can upgrade it to a soul crusher. Soul Crusher is thus the best glove in castle age now at 16 atk and 16 def. Hyperion basically provides a bonus for your war councils and will help you in War Related Conquests. Plate of the Ages is also a possible drop and has become the best armor in the Castle Age game sitting at a powerful stat pool of effective 51.5 attack and effective 59 defense.

When fighting the war of the red plains, you have an option between a straight forward attack and a tactics attack, the general rule of the thumb is that a straight forward attack works better when you have lower hp and a lousier item pool for your 5 heroes, the tactics is better if you have high HP for the Red Plains battle army as well as decent equipment and generals like those that can drop even from the Red Plains itself such as the Plate of the Ages or the next up Skaar Deathrune Armor or things like Genesis Swords and Soul Crushers although you would have to kill Lotus Ravenmore for the Deathtouch gauntlets first and I doubt they have increased the drop rate % and generals that comes from treasure chests or are just plain strong like Azriel. Zenarean Dagger is also a good common drop taht can be farmed that is helpful in Wars as well as invasion at 20/19 or 20 attack 19 defense.

This general looks to be a favor point version of Gildamesh the Orc King, allowing you to do bigger power attacks in one shot.

Generals - Oracle: Kaiser

Since the monthly general has been replaced, you will need to use a direct link from the forums or wikia to go straight to the purchase of Kaiser, most likely you'll go for either the spell backdraft or the general himself. You could try looking for it on the forums it would be a rather fast find. Be warned though as clicking the link will automatically purchase it for you i.e. you won't get a choice or second chance

Currently the oracle is offering the Kaiser general which looks to be a pretty good bargain for players above level 130.
At its final level it has 20 attack and 19 defence, but the most important is its 3% base crit at its max level that makes it an incredible monster killer.

Kaiser is one of the heads of a powerful guild of assassins.

There are also 3 pieces of additional purchasable equipment that one can get to improve his prowess.

Death Dealer at 18 Attack and 10 Defence and adds 2Atk to Kaiser.

Ornate dagger at 16/12 and also adds an additonal 2 ATK

And best of the best the spell Backdraft which gives Kaiser one additional critical %.

All in all one of the best oracle bargains so far til now

Logging off for the day

Before you log off facebook or close the castle age game tab, there are some things that you might find helpful to your game. In case you were wondering, it seems that closing your facebook window or even any window that has castle age running on it counts as logging off. Perhaps there is an internal automatic log off that kicks in once it detects some inactivity on the facebook user's part of the browser.

Hiding
Since Arena season is over, pvp players can go back to the technique of hiding. If you've heard this term mentioned before, but is unsure what it is, here is the lowdown. Basically if you close facebook when your hp is below 10, you will fall off the radar of attackable targets. i.e. you won't get attacked until you next login (provided your hp is over 10) This helps in preserving your battle rank.

Standby General
The alternative is of course to keep your castle in tip top condition and make it hard to attack. For a low level player or someone who is new to the game or has not much time and favor points to play with, the best general is very accessible to get and you'll almost probably have it is Celesta. If you can afford the favor points to buy chests generals then you will probably find preference with the general Ambrosia. Another good one if you are under top army is Savannah, which adds a few virtual units to your army size.

Low Level Gear
Some of the best way to get low level gear for invasions is to have friends send you alchemy items through gifting. Some good ones are the ingredients used for the bow, as well as the new items like Garlans Armor

Banking

When Banking before logging off
Before you log off and if money is still a concern at this point of the game, what you need to do is level up the general Ariel and get the bonus in the highest level. This allows you to do banking without have to pay a service charge. Despite attempts by the developers to make money more useful, it still remains more of an afterthought at the higher stages of play. At this point though money is pretty much useless once you've made it to a certain level where you will get more money faster than you will even spend it even if you are chained endlessly by people looking to up their battle points or some other points

Farming Favor Points

The best mob to farm favor points now will be from Skaar Deathrune. Good thing it dies fast and energy can be used in the process. It is a good way to invest about 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 damage for an okay chance at 1 favor point.

Update: Castle Age has nerfed the sea serpents and dragons, don't bother farming them anymore.

The common wisdom regarding favour points is that when one has sufficient stamina and energy one should line up a sizable amount of sea serpents and dragons, assuming one does not intend to pay for the points. Recently however, there may be a possibility that the loot one obtains is derived not from the numbers that come out but from the stamina and energy spent. Generally the best way is to devote spare energy points onto sea serpents which are numerically dependent and then to devote your stamina either to more serpents or for new monster farms. If you are a stam build with say 1 atk and 3000 stamina you are better off sticking to dragons as dragon's are stamina dependent instead of number dependent in loot generation.

Playing Castle Age on the iPhone
UPDATE:
Castle Age has now created an app for the iphone, you can easily find it by going to their store or using the direct link from the in game window. Once I've given it a go I'll update this spot with further details about the Facebook Castle Age Iphone App.

In the past it was possible though tedious to play Castle Age on the iPhone, these days it seems next to impossible however. It is unsure as to how well Google Android or the Blackberries run the Castle Age program.

Android runs flash, but castle age isn't heavily dependent on flash so while you may play Mafia Wars on your android, some buttons might be harder to click using google android.

Fighting Raids
If you're farming for Chase Then you'll be needing plenty of battle hearts to purchase him. 25,000 to be exact.
No easy way to go about getting Chase hero, except to hit for 1 stamina at a time that will increase Battle Hearts gain. When farming for the Chase general, it seems higher damage done gives higher multiplier on battle hearts at the end of the battle.

When Leveling Up
It is best to expend your stamina first until you are very close to leveling, say a few more experience points more.
The reasoning for this is due to the maximum dose of stamina that one can possibly deal out at one go is capped at 5 but for energy, one can use up in one shot up to 120 energy or 100, as well as smaller increments like 80, 50, or a few dozen. This allows you to carry the exp points over to the next levels and gives you a little bit of that extra boost to jump start the next level. Think of it like using a time and expense software

As for arena tips, you would have to wait for the next arena season, but for now keep your stamina potions at hand!

How to farm Stamina Potions in Castle Age
The first thing to do is to of course purchase the potions making land and log in once every day.
The second is to hit monsters daily as they all have a chance to drop more stamina potions instead of energy potions.

If you plan to PVP, you might want to ensure that your total attack + total defence divided by your level is more than 7, or at least more than 5 before you reach 80, at that is the level combat quickly degrades into a brutal free for all tit for tat.

Low Level Techniques

Update, Dragons are no longer good. If you are of a high enough level, go for Skaar Deathrune instead.

When you are at a low level, you won't be able to deal that much damage or heal that much, so you have to start looking for bargain monsters, where they are low level, easy to do damage to, but gives out decent loot for your level. Some of these examples are the Dragons, which allows you to get helm of dragon power.
