Cat Enclosures Are Absolutely Essential

Our Cat's Safety is Our Responsibility
Cats are no different than our children or dogs when it comes to their safety. It is our responsibility to keep them from harm and an awful tragedy.
Once your precious pet wanders off your property they are at the mercy of all sorts of risk. We can even include human predation here as there are some folk who will not handle situations either in a caring or humane manner.
The obvious solution is to provide cat enclosures for our feline companions for when we are intending being away from home for any extended period. Cat enclosures do not need to be fancy or costly.

Cat Enclosures Still Mean Freedom
Many folk believe having cat enclosures means the end of their darling cat's freedom. This couldn't be more wrong. It simply means when you are away they are safe from whatever the risks are in your neighbourhood, or garden, to your cats. However, more importantly when you are at home then your feline companions can share your garden with you. You can then keep an eye on them that they don't go jumping the wrong fences. We all understand that the safety of our pets lies fairly and squarely on our shoulders. The responsibility is no different than looking out for the safety of one's children. Cats are smart but there are many situations they don't have a lot of control over. Therefore you have to do quite a bit of their thinking for them. The same as what we do for our children and in the process keep them from harm. Cats Are Creatures of Fright And Flight
Cat runs for cats are only limited by your imagination. If you are any sort of handy man you can put up your own enclosure. If you prefer to have someone come in then there are plenty of handy men or companies that will help out. They do however need lots of interest in them and lots of places for your cats to hide. Cats being creatures of fright and flight use subterfuge as their protection. Therefore don't forget to provide cover for them to conceal themselves in their cat enclosures.
Please No Sorry Old Birdcages
The mistake people make with cat runs is that they make them appealing for themselves. Often they are too sterile and more like an old fashioned cage. Some even look like those sorry old bird cages that miserable birds live out dull lives in. Ideally very small enclosures should have a covered roof on them. This gives a more natural feel to it for the cat. Your cats will understand they are being confined and they need to know they only have to protect themselves from the sides, not above as well.
Locks On The Gate
Secondly before you put any cat into an enclosure go and sit for awhile in it and look for somewhere you could escape if you were their size. If there is any sort of gap then rest assured your cats will find it. Therefore it's best you find it first. Also ensure any gates to the outside have locks on them to prevent some idiot letting your cats escape while you are not there.
Provide Lotsa Interest For Your Cats
Today it is the norm that couples both work and are gone for long periods of time. Your cats will be spending many hours in the confinement so provide interest for them. There are so many games available for cats but an all time favorite is the cat tunnel. This is such an easy item to supply for them and yet they will thank you for it. Naturally this is where it is necessary to provide company for your cat companions while you are not there. Two cats are great company for each other or more if your situation caters for that. Despite much that has been written that cats are loners it is simply not true. Out on the streets cats live in colonies and in a domestic situation they look to other cats as friends.
When you understand cats it is so much easier to enrich their life.
