Is a cat stroller right for you and your cat?
Lately my husband and I have been contemplating a dog. We love dogs and we think this will force us to get out and walk more. The only problem is, dogs cost a lot more money than cats and money is one thing that we are very tight on right now.
I was reading Skeezik's blog today because Daisy had an interview about her and her cat stroller posted today. Then it dawned on me; why don't I get a stoller for my cats? This would take care of the exercise issue and allow them to get outside more often. I still haven't talked to my hubby about this yet, but I think a cat stroller would definitely be something to save our pennies for. The hubby thinks this would be borderline "crazy cat lady" but I don't care, I'm still going to save my money.
Now the difficult part will come in researching and getting the best deal on a pet stroller for our cats.
Since I originally published this page, my husband has talked me out of buying a cat stroller. I hope the time I spent doing all of this research will help you make the right decision for you.

What to consider when shopping for a cat stroller
Here are some things to consider when shopping for a cat stroller:
1. Is your cat used to being on a harness? If so, then a stroller with a convertible top will be great for you. If not, look for a closed top cat stroller. You don't want kitty jumping out of the stroller while you're out walking.
2. How often are you going to walk your cat? If you are going to be doing some heavy duty walking daily then you are definitely going to want to avoid the 4, 6, or 8 plastic wheel strollers and go for the 3 wheeled stroller with heave duty tires instead.
3. Is your space limited? If you live in an apartment or house where space is at a premium then you will definitely want to consider a cat stroller that folds up. You will want to consider this if you are going to take kitty to a different part of the city to stroll as well because you will need to fit the stroller into the truck of your car.
4. Are you going to be visiting while on your walks? If so, you may want to consider a model that has a carrying basket underneath the main compartment; this will allow you to take any needed accessories with you for your visit.
5. Is your cat skittish? If so, you will want to consider a cat stroller that is higher off of the ground. This way kitty is above any little ankle biters that come around and at eye level to big dogs. Your cat will feel a lot more at ease in this type of stoller.
6. How heavy is your cat? Make sure the cat stroller you are considering will handle your cat's weight. You don't need to overdue the size, but you definitely don't want to underestimate or your cat may get hurt.

- Never tried it, but I once had a pair of cats who just loved to walk and run on leashes in our city neighborhood. It was great for them in several ways, as you can imagine.

- I had never seen these before either but now reading the reasons behind this I can see why they would be needed. Very niche topic. Best wishes for a wonderful New Year.

- I had never heard of this either until I started reading Daisy the Curly Cat. My husband thought I was crazy when I brought this up to him, but with what he puts me through sometimes, I think I deserve a little crazy streak.
Sorry to hear about your little Pug's health getting worse. I hope bringing him indoors gives him some really happy years ahead.

- You know, my heart is just breaking over the sad state of health of our dear Pug the cat. Yesterday when I did her comparison picture that I posted on Country Club Cats, the fact sunk in how much she had changed from just over one year ago. After consultation with the clinic, it is apparent that she can no longer return to the feral cat colony and must become an indoor cat with us. That means she may just be a candidate for one of these cat strollers -- she is so yearning to go outside! I never thought of such a stroller before.
