Why You're Doing Yourself a Favor Address Cat Behavior Problems ASAP!

Tons of people have cat behavior problems, but were you aware that it's usually the most common reason cats are handed off to shelters. Instead of getting help and learning to deal with their cats behavior problems, most people will just give up after a short time, and then leave the poor cat hanging out to dry. (Sometimes literally!)

Most every cat behavior experts will admit that the more time that you let go with a certain behavior; the more difficult it is to change that behavior. Unfortunately, most people don't realize this until it is too late.

It's vital that one of the first things you do if you notice a bad behavior change in your cat is to seek veterinary help, in case there's an actual medical reason behind it.

Most cat medical problems manifest into behavior problems. A lot of times for instance, when your cat isn't using its litter box, and peeing around the house it could be because of a urinary tract infection. Often the problem could be as minute as the cat becoming too old to use the litter box, and therefore a different litter box with lower sides will do the trick.

Your cat's behavior problem may persist because of the behavior it's learned during the time of the illness, which will carry on even after the medical problem has been fixed. After your cat has become conditioned to urinate around the house during a urinary tract infection, it may just continue to do so out of basic conditioning.

By tackling cat behavior problems as early as possible you can make your life, plus the life of your cat much more enjoyable. Just don't forget that changing your cat's behavior usually comes down to patience and being consistent. Also try to remember that a thorough vet exam can rule out the potential medical cause of a behavior problem.

The Litter Box...Does your Cat Use It?

One of the biggest problems that people have with their cats is the use of the litter box. Teaching your cat how to use the litter box can be a chore but it's obviously the only way that you can logically have a cat.

So the question is though...
