Help! My Cat is Destroying My Furniture!
Scratching is healthy for cats, but not for your furniture
Scratching is a natural and healthy part of your cat's life. It's a combination of exercise, stretching, sharpening claws, and marking territory.Unfortunately, scratching is not so healthy for your furniture.
Luckily, with some understanding and a little bit of patience your cat and nice furniture can peacefully coexist! Sound cat advice from MyOtherKids.com spells it out.
Furniture For Your Cat
Cat health begins with the right home
A Well-Behaved Cat is A Healthier Cat
Can you train a cat?
A cat that spends all or most of its life inside your house is ill-equipped to dodge the countless hazards outside your home. Cars, other cats, dogs, wildlife, ticks, and fleas are just a few of threats your cat has to avoid each time it goes outside.
Your cat is crafty, quick, and silent. Despite your best efforts to block her from darting out, eventually you'll fail and the cat will get to fend for itself for a while. But, you can avoid that simply by training your cat not to run for an opening door.
Behavior training for cats has many other benefits. Training can remove aggression, nervousness, and separation anxiety. Training can allow your nice furniture, houseplants, and your cat to coexist peacefully. And, training can put an end to finding little surprises behind the furniture and around the house.
Unfortunately, many cat owners refuse to correct their cat's behavior problems. They have never run across the right information to help them cure their cat's eccentricities, so they just roll over and accept a mediocre existence with their cat.
Isn't it time you had a GREAT life with your cat?

A Well-Behaved Cat is a Healthier Cat - Part II
As it turns out, you can train a cat!
Many behavior problems can be corrected just by providing the right environment and showing your cat which things belong to her. A cat identifies itself by the things it owns.
For example, you can provide a perfectly-good litter box for your cat. If the box isn't in a convenient yet private place or if the cat doesn't understand that it's her litter box, she may come to prefer the space behind the couch for doing her business.
Do-it-yourself cat training videos and programs, when you can find them, are expensive! Outside these pricey programs, however, there is very little knowledge about cat training.
What's worse, if you purchase a $120 video on cat training and decide you don't like it, now you're stuck with a misbehaving cat and a dust-collecting video!
That's why I was very happy to find that Kingdom of Pets, producer of the very popular SitStayFetch program for dogs, has come out with Complete Cat Training.
Complete Cat Training combines the knowledge of the worlds top veterinarians and professional pet trainers in one comprehensive volume. Unlike other training programs, Kingdom of Pets is willing to stand behind their product.
Complete Cat Training comes with an 8-week money back guarantee. If you can't get the program to work, Kingdom of Pets thanks you for trying the program and gives you a full refund.
However, I'm pretty sure you won't be asking for that refund. If you purchase Complete Cat Training, Kingdom of Pets gives you access to multiple cat trainers for private consultations! If you have any problems working with your cat or the Complete Cat Training program, professional trainers work with you for free!
Best of all, Complete Cat Training costs about a third of the expensive videos and programs with none of these benefits.
I'm recommending Complete Cat Training to all my friends and relatives to help their cats live long and healthy lives without the headaches of behavior problems!

Cats May Self-Administer Ultrasound Therapy
The best health care provider for your cat may actually be your cat
Sounds in the frequency range of a cat's purr have been shown to promote bone density and healing. Coupled with the fact that cats who have been injured or are near death enter a purring, almost meditative state, there is a strong possibility that the purpose of a cat's purr is identical to the purpose of ultrasound therapies on humans.

Help Cat Experts! My cat is VERY territorial, doesn't like anyone by my fiance and I. It is usually just us in the apartment. In the past, we have only been away from Moonie on vacation for 2 days max. She is 9 & 1/2 yrs old. We brought her home at 8 weeks. My finace & I will be on vacation for our honeymoon for 8 days. I am so worrried about Moonie. I have a friend who will check on her twice daily. Please help with advice as she is so scared of everyone but Lou & I. I was thinking about having my friend over a few times before our departure so she can hopefully get aquainted with the new human's scent. My friend is an animal lover as well as a very lovable guy, however, Moonie's world is me, Lou, and our home, no one else. We hardly have any visitors, my nephews & friends stop by but very rarely, we usually do the visiting. Please help. We leave in January, THANK YOU !!!!!! :)
