Catahoula - also known as the Catahoula Cow Dog is one of the most awesome dogs in the world.
Catahoulas are good working dogs - great for rounding up cattle, hunting wild hogs and more.
Catahoulas are somewhat unique in that they can be quite vicious toward other animals such as cattle and wild hogs - however, they are gentle toward children they know.

The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog or Catahoula Cur, is named after Catahoula Parish in the state of Louisiana in the United States. Of remaining dog breeds, the Catahoula is believed to have occupied North America the longest, aside from the dogs descended from Native American-created breeds. The breed is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the "Catahoula Hound" or "Catahoula Leopard Hound", as it is not a hound, but a Cur.

If not for your lens, I don't have any idea that there is a dog breed like this! It sure looks like a Greyhound to me. Is it a close relative of the Greyhound? anyway, thanks for sharing this! Now I know there is a Catahoula breed for dogs! He looks wonderful, too! If I have a dog like this, I wouldn't hesitate to put his pics in my personal checks just like what my sister did! she put some pics of her Greyhound on her Greyhound Checks for all to see!
