Create a Catalog of Your Lenses

A Librarians Method for Organizing Squidoo Lenses
I'd tried making a variety of lensographies to organize my lenses and make them accessible. Finding the time to update these lensographies wasn't easy. After awhile you wonder if you need to make a lensography of your lensographies. Aaack.
Finally I decided to create a catalog of my lenses using Squidoo's own categories and the My Lenses modules. It will update itself and wasn't that hard to set up initially.
Here's the quick and easy way to catalog all your lenses.

Here's My Subject Index of My Lenses
Take a quick look at it so you can see what the lens will look like
Start the Lens and Choose the Modules
- Start your lens with the basic format you are most comfortable with.
- Get the My Lenses module from the ADD MODULES. You will need 30 of these for the categories Squidoo uses.
- Get 3 or 4 Page Break modules from the ADD MODULES.
-
Get 3 or 4 Big Arrow modules from the ADD MODULES. (These are for linking viewers from one page to the next)
If you prefer another method for linking to the additional pages, then skip the Big Arrows.
Title Format in the My Lenses Modules
I recommend keeping it minimal as the page break abbreviates the titles, cutting off longer titles. Use ALL CAPS if you want them easier to read.
My Lenses
The My Lenses module will look like this (with lenses already in it).
1) go to the Filter by topic and choose the 1st topic on the list (ABOUT ME).
2) Place that in the module title box
3) choose 25 for the number of lenses to display even if you only have a few at this time. Allow for expansion.
4) sort any way that appeals to you. As a librarian, I preferred the sort by Lens Title (Alphabetically).
5) save the module
6) repeat this with the rest of the 30 modules so you have one with each Squidoo category.

Further Notes
The modules will be in the correct alphabetical order if you go directly down the list of categories while creating the module titles.
To put the links for page 2 and page 3, you will need to publish the lens and check the URL for each page. Put that URL in the Big Arrow module. Drag each Big Arrow module into place just above the page break that it relates to.
Add your usual guestbook, donation, and other modules at the end of the lens.
Because of the length, I avoided adding lots of graphics. Use your personal judgement on this.

- A great tip on the mylenses module. I'll have to take a look at that because using the featured lenses will become difficult to update the more lenses I make. The page break info no longer applies sadly.

- Well you have done an excellent job. You even introduced me to a new module. I don't know how I missed this one. Great job. Blessed by the SquidAngel of Lensographies. You are featured on SquidAngel of Lensographies.
