We have all met a person and before actually having a chance to get to know them, come to the realization that no matter what, we wouldn't be able to get along with them. Some ancient beliefs state that if we run into someone that we know we can not get along with, it is because of a bad or weak aspect in our own personalities which we dislike and are reflected within that other person. That is to say, if you dislike something about yourself and find that aspect within others, you will be led to dislike people with the same aspect. For example, if you dislike people who tell white lies, you'll find you admire those that are totally honest while having a dislike for those that are like yourself especially if you are working to change that aspect of yourself.

The other side is that once you've overcome that aspect which you dislike your feelings for the other person might change and you might find yourself assisting them. Remember that for you to feel good about your self, there must be a created and maintained harmony between both the inner and outer selves. Between thoughts and actions, body and soul, a balance maintained between the public persona we present to the outside world and even our closest friends and the private persona that is who we are when there is no one but our selves. We can all agree with the fact that our inner selves have a huge impact upon the actions that we perform on the outside. This is why professionals advise us to meditate. Meditation is one of the many ways we can achieve harmony within ourselves once we have inner harmony finding harmony with the outside self is much easier.
