Complete Cat Training Guide

It is amazing how many dog training books you can find. There are books to tell you just about anything you want to know about a dog; even how to communicate with them and prevent behavioral problems. I never considered training my cat to do tricks and be obedient. Until, that is, I stopped over to see a friend recently, where I looked on, stunned (and a little envious) as she got her cat perform an entire lineup of tricks: rolling over, playing dead, shaking hands, even playing fetch. I figured if she could accomplish this with her cat, i could easily do it with mine and began searching for the ultimate cat training book.

After searching in every bookstore I could find, never finding what I was looking for, I took my search online. I quickly came across Complete Cat Training by Paula Robb and was very impressed by what she had to say. She obviously know her stuff when it comes to cats.

What is included in this book?

Why is it so great?

Let me get one thing straight: although this is a book that will teach you (among other commands) how to get your cat to beg, jump, twirl, stay, sit, shake, come, open cupboards, kiss, play dead, and retrieve, it is much more comprehensive than that and you will learn so much more.

What I found useful was how all inclusive the book is: pretty much every aspect of owning a cat has been covered, in depth. For example: as well as training your cat, you will also get information on how to fix virtually any cat problem (this is no baseless claim - over twenty-five cat behavioral problems are covered, from urine-marking to night-time disturbances to aggression); each problem is complemented by a real life case study (which is a real help when it comes to putting the information into context); you will learn how to understand your cat's body language and vocals, plus how to use that knowledge to understand what your cat is thinking and how to communicate with him. In addition, there is chapter after chapter of general knowledge on things like how to choose the right cat for your home; understanding feline behaviors both "good" and "bad"; how to help your cat adapt to your lifestyle and home; how to toilet-train your cat; and two whole sections on cat health and nutrition, all of which will help improve your relationship with your cat.

Some Other Benefits I Found In The Book

Written instructions can be difficult to understand, especially when you're also trying to control a wriggling, energetic cat. That's why the book includes clear step-by-step photographs and illustrations which will come in so useful when learning the strategies: I even learned exactly how to position myself and make the most of my body language during the training to make my cat more responsive. This made the process much easier and faster.

Another thing that was nice was that the book was instantly accessible. This is a very important to me; I don't like paying for something, then waiting days or even weeks for it to be shipped overseas, processed through the post, and possibly delivered to the wrong address. The whole ordering process gave me instant gratification and within seconds I had the book downloaded to my computer and began the learning process.

The Best Part

I do not understand how Paula Robb is making any money at all because of how much she is giving away with this book. Now, you won't hear me complaining, but here are some of the freebies that I got with my book:

  • The Essential Cat Recipe Book, which shows you how to prepare tasty, healthy meals and treats for your beloved kitty
  • The Ultimate Guide to Pampering Your Cat, which shows you how to develop a real bond of affection with your cat through improving his quality of life.
  • A free, private email consultation (worth $120) with a team of real live cat trainers. If you have any problems, any queries whatsoever, all you have to do is send an email to the team and you will get a personal solution to your problem.
  • Access to a members only cat community
  • Plus more!

So What Do You Think?

I would HIGHLY reccomend this book. Not only is the whole thing jam-packed with useful advice and hands-on tips, but the price is quite reasonable: only $37 for the book, the consultation, and the bonus books %u2026 plus there is a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee for 60 days after your purchase.

All in all, I have no qualms whatsoever about recommending this book to anyone who currently has, or is thinking about getting, a cat: whether it's training, behavioral problems, trouble-shooting, or improving your relationship with your beloved kitty, you will learn something useful.

It depends on why your cat is attacking you. Does the cat think it is play or do you believe it to be more malicious?

My Tonkinese in a biter! Spraying water in his face only stops him at the moment. He leaves marks that bleed. He even attacked my face once. Any suggestions?
