Cat clocks

There is no mass production here or moulds of any sort. Each clock takes about 2 hours to cut and grind into shape and on top of that it is in the kiln for another 12 hours.

After the cat clock has cooled down I then apply the cat's whiskers and ear markings etc using liquid glass. I now have to fire the cat in the kiln for a second time to permanently fuse the markings into the glass. I then drill the hole in the centre of the body to accommodate the clock mechanism.

They start a 70 euros/ 98 dollars they are not the cheapest in town, but you're getting a unique one of a kind hand made clock.

Well, I would like to introduce you all to my two cats, Lulu and Onni. Onni is the ginger Tom. They give me my inspiration. Lulu is 5 and Onni is a 4 year old.

They are both spoiled rotten and can do what they want when they want. Lulu is 4 kilos and she is THE BOSS. Good old Onni weighs in at just over 8 kilos.

They are both very naughty and Onni sometimes thinks that it's time for him to be top dog, and just jumps on her pinning her down to the ground (all in good fun). She goes crazy and when she escapes by God does he pay for it.

Ok then, as for commissioned work I charge the same as all my other cat clocks 98 dollars as they are made of a glass called artister. So you can have any colours you want, as long as they are in stock.

If however you would like an opaque collared glass (solid colures) or colures that artister do not make then I must use a glass called bullseye that is more expensive, so you would then be looking at 155/185 dollars for your clock depending on the colure.

This Rag doll cat clock was commissioned by a Mr Anderson as a surprise birthday gift to his wife Heidi It is 100 % glass. The cats head ears and tail is made of two shades of a brown glass, and the body is made up from a brown and white marble glass. The cats markings are made of a white powder glass mixed with oil and also fused into the glass.

The collar is 18k gold leaf and his eyes are of a blue dichroic glass that change colour depending on what angle you're looking at him. This clock was fired three separate times to make him that was a total of 36 hours in the kiln.

It was funny when it came to drilling the hole in the body to accept the clock mechanism; I also had two other cats to be drilled. They were made of the standard artister glass, so I decided to drill one of those first as I hadn't drilled any cats for some time and as I was drilling the first one, yep it broke it happens some times. So that was binned, then came Andersons clock I thought please no as this glass is more expensive anyway I took extra time and happy days I made it through all ok.

As for the cost of Dumb #%% the rag doll cat clock it was a birthday gift so can't say.

This is nice! Pinkie the cat clock was commissioned by Georganna. It is 100 % glass. The clock is made up of two different shades of a marbled pink glass, and has pink dichroic accents on the body and head to give it a bit of sparkle.

The cats markings are made of a black and white powder glass mixed with oil. The collar is gold dichroic etched glass that changes to a nice pink depending on its angle, and fused into the glass. The eyes are of a bright green dichroic glass.

This clock was fired twice once to make the clock, and a second time to fuse the cat's markings into the glass. Georganna was looking for a girly clock with a bit of sparkle; well I think we got there. Thanks Georganna. Price was 180 dollars

This pendant was commissioned by Erica. This was the third attempt and I think this one is ok, its 45mm long x 23mm wide the whiskers and eyes are made of liquid glass and fused into the glass. Believe it or not I used one of my own cat's whiskers for the markings as they are so fine and keep their strength.

The tail is made separately and is tacked fused onto the cat on a second firing, the collar is made of a thin strip of dichroic glass.

PS my cat lulu was not attached to the whisker when I used it :)

This Jaguar cat clock was commissioned by Lynn. It is 100 % glass. The head and body are made of a marigold yellow. The cats markings are made of black powder glass mixed with oil.

As for postage I ship internationally they are well wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed. In the summer months I ship on average 12 clocks a month and up till now with no breakages. Ok the postage is 35 dollars but all told it's still a good deal for an original one of a kind handmade Functional piece of wall art.
