cats_My Collection

My husband had 3 cats when I met him. At first they weren't too fond of me. After a while they became my buds sharing my honey dew melon and even my ice cream. They were indoor/outdoor guys and this always scared me because we live by a busy street by an airport. Of course the street wasn't as busy 20 years ago and we were almost the only house on the block. But there were always wild and stray animals around.So we lost our guys one by one either from dog attacks or other mishaps around the property. My husband said no more cats until the dogs(we had many of them as well)were gone. The count dwindled but my cat collection turned to pictures, plaques,jewelry and knick knacks. Pretty soon my husband went to work at a lumber company and one day he came home with 2 kittens. This is where we really get started. Bitsy and Blu were litter mates (pictures will come later). Then came Purrcy, my odd-eyed deaf cat. He just appeared in our yard when he was just a kitten. Then along came Jacko from the lumber yard that someone dropped off at the door. Then we had to bring home Momma Kitty from the lumber yard because someone had hit her in the head and the vet said to keep on eye on her. So home she came and stayed.All five of these cats live indoors with us, never going outside.
Now, about a year ago we were going to take a female cat(Dusty) from the lumber yard and have her"fixed" ,but when we got her to the clinic they couldn't take anymore that day. So, home she came. There were still 2 more females(daughters, Sophie & Mimi) that needed to be "fixed" and my husband thought he'd catch them and we would take all 3 at the same time. Well as days turned to a week or so, we discoverd the Dusty (the 1st) was pregnant. He caught Sophie and brought her home suspecting she too was pregnant. Couldn't catch the 3rd female(Mimi) as she was on to us AND pregnant as well. Dusty had her 4 kittens on March 17th,2008 and Sophie and Mimi both had there litters on April 15th or 16th. My husband was able to finally lure Mimi and her kittens into a cage and brought them home. As time progressed we tried to find homes for the little darlings. We took Dusty's 4 to the SPCA and this really broke our hearts so we vowed never to do that again. I said I will raise the rest my self. So we started building an outdoor enclosure attached to our old home so they could go indoors or outdoor whenever they wanted too. Big sucess! The day was coming that my husband would want to bring home 5 more lumbar yard cats so we added on, divided the inside of the house in half and brought them home. Now we have a total of 23 cats between the 2 houses. OH ! We also have a pit bull, rottweiller, german police dog and Marvin. Marvin is a mutt but has some chow in him and he is his own dog. They are outdoor dogs.

I love my pets because they bring me such pleasure. They are all different in their own way. They can always bring a smile to my face and after a long day at work they know how to make me relax. I enjoy taking pictures of them(as you will find out). They do some really neet things at times.
