For The Kids...

The women go hunting, the cubs play by my side,
-but if I get too hungry, they all better hide.

The life for the lion, includes plenty of sun,
-The men lay and they sleep, until the hunting is done,

-when the wives come back home, they'll bring us a meal,
-so we won't eat our cubs, that's part of the deal.

Though I'm king of the jungle, that's not where I live,
-the sunny plains of Africa, has much more to give.

The mane on my neck, is really just hair,
-it makes me look bigger, to the animals I scare.

So if you see a lion, whether awake or asleep,
-do not try to pet him, and your fingers you'll keep.

For The Kids...

My life is so great, I can see very well,
-I can run really fast, when I see a gazelle.

I hide in the grass, and I'll be very still,
-till I spot an animal, that will be my next meal.

I'll take it and hide it, under a tree,
-so no other animals, can take it from me.

My brothers and sisters, I'll usually have two,
-when we were much younger, we played "hunt for food".

Some cats hunt at night, but I like the day,
-so If you see a cheetah, then just stay away.

The life of a tiger is a life that is bold,

While animals are around, I'll be very still,
-and make a quick pounce, on my next meal.

So if you see a Tiger, it just may be too late,
-the best you can hope for, is that he has just ate.

I walk through the house, stared at from above,
-the best thing I like, is when you show me your love.

Petting my head, and brushing my fur,
-is all that it takes, to get me to purr.

I sleep when I want, sometimes all day long,
-but I'm awake on most nights, keeping an eye on the home.

Mice will not enter, they think I am mean,
-keeping mice from entering your home, helps keep your home clean.

A kitty or kitten or even a cat,
-you'll most often find me, curled up in your lap.

My tail is real short, and my ears are a sight,
-I use them to hear food, when I hunt at night.

My prey won't come close, but that is okay,
-I can easily pounce on it, from 10 feet away.

At night when we roam, this american ground,
-yes we are of plenty, a million to be found.

Your cat is much smaller, than me it is true,
-compare me to your cat, and I could make two.

I live in the mountains, and can be very shy,
-I watch as my prey, slowly walks by,

I'll watch and I'll wait, till the time is just right,
-then jump on my prey, and take a big bite.

My size is real big, and my strength you should fear,
-lucky for you, I mostly eat deer.
