Geminis never outgrow kittenhood. These cats are able to take whatever comes their way and integrate it into their energetic, fun-filled lifestyle. If you have to leave your cat behind on a trip, plan to move, or even get a new pet, your Gemini will quickly adapt. New feeding patterns or work schedules likewise do little to faze this pet.

Geminis are always curious about new pets and people. They aren't so friendly that they immediately leap into somebody's lap, but they always present the best face to new pets and usually rub up against new people, expecting some petting. Once they have traded pleasantries, your Gemini will go back to enjoying whatever it was doing before. That's the nice thing about a Gemini-it's pretty capable of taking care of itself, and that doesn't even have to involve scratching up your couch or getting into the spice cupboard. A few carefully chosen cat toys mean that if you're too busy to play, your Gemini isn't. This cat has a level of independence that makes for easy care. However, all of that leeway comes with a price.

Geminis usually aren't flexible because of their magnanimous nature; rather, flexibility usually comes because they are naturally inconsistent themselves. You won't be the only one changing the schedule. It may also be that your Gemini is the one demanding food at odd times or suddenly leaping out of your lap, bored with petting and cuddling. One thing you can count on is that Geminis will be slow to warm up to people or pets that present a threat. It's hard to know why one cat triggers the threat mechanism in a Gemini and another doesn't, but when it happens, the best thing to do is to get rid of whatever is causing the problem. Your Gemini will leave the room and may come poking in a little later to scope things out, but it will never likely warm up to that animal or person. With that said, any non-threatening additions to the household will be greeted first with a sort of curious aloofness, followed quickly by an intense attempt at incorporating the newcomer into your cat's playtime. Libras and Aquarii are the most compatible.

Geminis love nothing better than to frolic and cavort. They will have many favorite toys, all of which they will be willing to share with you and any other friendly types that get introduced into their life. Geminis express themselves very well. If they are sick, need food or water, want to play, or want to cuddle, they can make it known. You will easily learn to communicate with your cat. They, too, are quick in their obedience and learning. Geminis are easy to train and will likely learn clever tricks that they will always enjoy performing. If you aren't quick on the playful uptake, it may be that your Gemini gets put out at times, even to the point of hissing and complaining, but if you do what you need to keep your pet happy, you'll never have a better one.
