My Cat Relatives and Cats that Tweet on Twitter

Cute cats and kittens are among my cat relatives, and cats and cat lovers do tweet on Twitter even though it may not seem to be a perfect mix at first. Why? Because a BIRD is the Twitter logo, and when I think of all the cats I bark at that are sitting around our bird feeder looking for a chance to pounce on the next visitor, I just don't understand why cats and cat lovers would tweet on Twitter, but they do.

As a dog, and a little one at that, I won't let my owner get any cats, but there are lots of cats in the family. The daughter that moved away when she got married has 2 cats, her grandmother has 4 as of this January 2012 update, and one of my owners sisters has about 10 of them! As we can, we'll add pictures of the furry "relatives" and tell you a little bit about them.

We have a cancer survivor (updated information below), runaways that have returned, and more.

The cute kitten picture above is one that circulates through email, that's how I received it. Many cat lovers may recognize it!

Kittens at Play

2 Pretty Prints

In late May or early June of 2011 my Mom got a kitten in hopes that it would fill the void left by Tigger's passing. I will get a picture of the kitten soon and post it!

The Cat Who Beat Cancer

For over 2 years

type=textThis is Tigger...he belonged to my owner's Mom. Tigger had an extra toe on both of his front feet...someone told us that cats with an extra toe were desirable on ships, maybe because they can balance better? We aren't sure, but know that they helped to keep the rodent population down.

Tigger had an intestinal tumor over 2 years ago, and had lost so much weight that he was bony and sad looking. He had surgery, and did well for quite a long time. This picture was taken after he put on weight...he gained even more over time.

January 31, 2011 Update - After doing well for over 2 years, Tigger's cancer has returned. He is still eating, jumping up on things, but thin, and the vet has told my owner's Mom that when she is ready, it is time to say goodbye. Mom is heart-broken. Say a prayer for her. I'll keep you updated.

February 4, 2011 Update - Tigger finished his battle with cancer peacefully in his owner's arms today after quite a bit of affection was passed between the two of them. My owner's Mom will miss Tigger very much, and she is thankful for the company Tigger gave her during some challenging times in life, and we all feel sad when it's time to say goodbye. We're glad she had the two other kitties below to come home to.

The Fastest Cat We Know

This is Penny. Penny moved in with my owner's Mom a few years ago as a rascally little kitten. She is a beautiful cat, keeps herself spotless, and runs like a flash, so fast she can run along the front of the couch and a wall sideways.

At first Penny and Tigger didn't get along very well, but Penny took a nurturing role during Tiggers last days. Now we hope that she will befriend the next kitty you will meet who has been kind of left in the sidelines by Tigger and Penny who would gang up on her.

Is Your Kitty Driving You Crazy?

I'm a dog so don't understand how people can like cats. Every pet owner loves their pet...or wants to love their pet...but sometimes our pets make it hard for us to love them.

Or maybe you just want your pet to learn a thing or two...cats CAN learn, but you have to know what you are doing, and we found a lady that knows her cats and knows how to train them.

You really must visit this link. You get free goodies when you order, and a happy life with your feline family members.

Sweet Big Ball of Fur

type=textThis is Riley, the gentlest cat of the three (now two) that live in the same house with my owner's Mom.

Riley was so busy trying to rub against my owner affectionately, that it was hard to get him to sit still for a picture. He spent most of the time in one room in the house because the other two cats were not too friendly with him, but now that Tigger is gone, we hope that will change.

You can pick this cat up and do anything with him, he never scratches or nips at you like the other two cats...and we like that...even though my owner's Mom says that when cats nip and scratch, they are "affectionate" scratches and nips.

Such cute photos! Especially "Cute ball of fluff" and "My big best buddy". My cat just had surgery 2 weeks ago to remove a tumor in her bladder. I hope we can have her around for a couple more years too.

I hope all goes well with your cat...each situation is different. Thanks so much for visiting.

Such a sweet lens, big Thumbs Up from me. I hope your mother has been able to come to terms with the loss of her precious cancer cat. I still dissolve in tears just at the thought of a couple of my prior furry kids - I will never get over the loss of them.

I have two mature cats that have Thyroid problems so I have to give Two cats a tablet Twice a day for the rest of their lives ---- *is that a happy image?*

I'm just very lucky that they tolerate me or I would be getting stitches every day to patch me back up.

FUNNY coincidence is that they are both on the IDENTICAL Thyroid medication that I was prescribed - talk about pets and owners 'becoming alike' etc - ROFLMAO!

I am sorry I never responded to this...thank you for your thoughts. I know what you mean, I can't imagine what it will be like when I have to say goodbye to my yorkie...she's been part of my life since birth, which I watched. Yes, it is amazing about the cats both needing the same meds:-)

Love the photo "MY Big Best Buddy." Very good lens. It is sad when we have to say goodbye to a wonderful pet.
  • happynutritionist Feb 10, 2011 @ 9:49 pm | delete
Thank you Sandy, that is a special picture. My daughter has cats and dogs, 2 of each, all living happily together...they even snuggle together when they sleep. Yes, I feel so for my Mom, and all of us who have to go through the goodbyes...my Mom was so strong and courageous about it, staying with Tigger loving him right through the whole process.

Fun lens - and the trend of four-legged Twitterers is growing exponentially! Some of their tweets are hysterical.
