Examining The Exact Causes Of Stuttering
Stuttering has many causes that can be attributed to several different backgrounds. Some opinions are that stuttering is mental condition that can be overcome with therapy. Others believe that the cause of stuttering derives from ancestors.Some of the more popular beliefs on the causes of stuttering are fear, trauma, anxiety and hereditary.
Fear can play a big part in a person's stuttering. Fear may cause a stutterer to feel apprehensive thus creating a hesitation in their speech.
Trauma has also been linked to a person developing a stutter. It is believe that trauma can cause someone to feel pressure the affects their breathing techniques. The shortness of breath can then cause stuttering.
Anxiety is related to both fear and trauma because it can cause a stutterer to feel trapped which affects breathing. Anxiety is often caused by bad childhood memories.
It is also not uncommon for stuttering to run in the family. Many times the cause of stuttering is attributed to a parent or relative. This analogy supports that theory that the cause of stuttering is a learned behavior.
The answer to the question of what are the causes of stuttering is rather simple; There is no real answer. Frankly, It is more conducive to concentrate on the solutions.
The many opinions on what causes stuttering is just speculation. There has never been a definitive origin of the condition. In contrast, there are solutions that have been known to generate results.
