Health Benefits Of The Caveman Diet
The Caveman Diet (aka The Paleolithic diet) remains one of the most curious diets ever devised. It may be the only diet that saw it popular drop and re-emerge after a several hundred thousand year gap. Then again, the popularity of the diet faded with the advent of slow evolution and modernization. We have always been hunter gatherers but as our abilities to invent and use tools emerged, the way we hunted and gathered food changed. Today, we generally only hunt if it is a lifestyle choice and our gathering involves purchasing food from the supermarket which is fine; but it comes with a number of potentially adverse health reactions.Modern food sources are not exactly known for being natural and organic. In many instances, modern food is loaded with all manner of processed ingredients and chemicals. This is because there is a need to preserve the items on store shelves. If they spoil too quickly, the stores will end up losing money. That means when you ingest processed foods, you are ingesting scores of foreign substances that do not exactly help the body in any way, shape, or form. In fact, it is possible over time that the body will suffer from disease as a result of ingesting such chemicals. With The Caveman Diet, such problems are eliminated because the diet will not be absorbing such chemicals.
We can look at this from the perspective of beef and how store bought beef transfers what are, essentially, toxins into the body. In their natural surroundings, cows eat grass. When they are raised for food, they are fed a series of unnatural food sources such as grains. They are also pumped with antibiotics and hormones. All of these foreign substances are then transferred into the human that eats them. Needless to say, this can cause a number of health problems over time.
With The Caveman Diet, the only beef that would be eaten would be free range beef that is completely free of all foreign substances. As such, no impurities enter into the diet which enhances health as it lowers the risk of heart attacks and other organ problems.
The issue of refined sugar is another one that The Caveman Diet circumvents...and all the health issues associated with it. Refined sugar is in virtually everything processed and it is not good for you. Sugar does very little other than make you fat and lay the groundwork for the onset of diabetes. A diet that avoids refined sugars is an absolute must if you are looking to improve your health.
While The Caveman Diet has its critics (It has been ridiculously dubbed a fad diet), it is a healthy diet based on eating organic foods. The food choices are quite vast and the complete elimination of unhealthy diet choices certain adds to its benefit and appeal. So, you really cannot go wrong with this particular diet plan. This is why its rediscovery has proven popular and why so many people continue to rave about it and follow its path.
