CB Radios and Ham Radio operators ride the waves

If you look at my Bio you will notice I am an old geezer. I have lived for a long time and I am convinced that the younger kids have missed out on all the fun we enjoyed growing up.

I remember when the CB Radio first started to grab the attention of my generation. The kids that added a CB with a whip antenna to their cars were our geeks. Everyone thought they were nuts to run around with a cb in the car. Then the movie titled the cannonball express came out along with the hit song "Convoy" and everyone got into the act.

I wonder what the kids of today dream about. Our dream was a fast car, a hot blond, a CB Radio and the open road. Weekend trips were exciting I can tell you.

Did you know that thousands of CB Radios are sold every year and that at least some people still have fun using them. Not that it is the same as in days gone by, but the dream is still alive.

I guess the cell phone is todays craze but it just doesn't seem as exciting. With a cb radio there is never a dropped signal,no monthly charges and there is always someone new to talk to. Trying giving a call out on the open air waves for someone with their "ears on" and see what happens.

Maybe the dream is just that A Dream but it is still a beautiful dream.

Yes, give me a fast car, a hot blond, a cb radio and the open road.

Cb Radios, Ham Radios and shortwave radios are still very popular and useful, even in this hi tech world where it is not accepted to have an old dream.
