Custom Dolls, Houses and Miniatures

Custom Dolls, Houses and Miniatures is one of those wonderful little nooks you find sometimes on the world wide web, a haven from all the hustle and bustle.

Finding this site was a bit like finding a very nice tearoom tucked down an alleyway away from the main street - sound nuts ... just go and take a look, you'll see what I mean.

It's a restful space where you can wonder at the creativity of other people and you'll find one of my favourite artists on there, Deb Jackson, for whose creations I have made several lenses.

You'll see she is in good company here.

From the cdhm homepage

Collectors of fine miniatures will find everything from traditional to fantasy dollhouses, and unique items to present-day styles of collectible handmade miniatures. If you are fond of spooky Halloween miniatures , you may even see a witch or two ... each item handcrafted and unique!

The site provides a place where artists in miniature can display their wares and let you, the customer, know where you can buy the items.

Some of the artists sell direct from the site, others sell on internet auction sites or their own websites and, of course, you can easily contact a member to discuss your requirements if you don't see quite what you're looking for.

I've brought some pictures of items here to give you a taste (a very small taste) of what's available.

I found it very difficult to choose which pictures I would show you, there are so many stunning miniatures on the site the choice is nigh on impossible.

Some beautiful pieces ...

If you click the "My CDHM Miniature Community" tab a whole new area opens up with blogs and videos. It's also there that you will find the forum and on the forum, a tab to take you to the featured artist's gallery of items.

There is also the excellent and informative newsletter.

A few videos from the CDHM site

... there are many more. Enjoy.

... and still more to learn

Back on the main page, why not click 'tutorials' and find out how to make such beautiful miniatures as this fabulous chocolate and vanilla layer cake with vanilla icing with IGMA Fellow Betsy Niederer or you can learn how to sculpt and flock a 1:12 Conure Parrot with IGMA Fellow Kerri Pajutee.

A site full of surprises.

And seemingly on every page there is something new to wonder at.

Animals, Bears, Dollhouses and Roomboxes, Dolls and Clothing, Fairies and Faes, Fantasy and Mythical, Fine Arts and Frames, Food, Furniture, Glass, Pottery, and Figurines, Haunted and Spooky, Holiday, Seasonal, Home and Business Accessories Indoors Out - Plants, Lighting and Electrical, Miniature Books and Printed Materials, Needlework, Crochet and Linens and Turnings, the categories covered on the site are comprehensive.

Everything you might want for your dollhouse can be found here and if you don't see what you want then you can always negotiate with one of the artisans and commission that special piece to be made just for you.

Now visit the site.

See how peaceful it is and how very relaxing to spend an hour or ... my goodness, that was three hours and I didn't even know it.

You don't have to own a dollhouse to be fascinated by these miniatures so off you go to Custom Dolls, Houses and Miniatures and I'll see you in a while.
