CDL Training

The Importance of Quality Training

It is no secret that the importance of a quality CDL training school is a vital neccesity in order to secure a safe and successful career within the trucking industry. The CDL Mills which many times offer highly priced inferior training, not only take advantage of many students, but can also be a potential safety hazard to many other professional drivers as well as the general public.
Because of this, I suggest that students do their research and choose the best possible training in order to be ready for the much needed skills and knowledge that a trucking career will require.

There are many quality truck driving schools that are responsible for producing skilled and confident professional drivers. Upon graduating, these well trained graduates, filled with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to take on that very first truck driving job, become faced with a series of questions that hit them head on.

Additional CDL Training Facility Responsibilites

Driving Skills are Just One Part of the Training

Class A CDL students as well as many graduates of truck driver training, have many unanswered questions. As instructors follow the curriculum and
especially if it is a large class, sometimes the cdl questions that students may have simply never get responded to, or the student may feel
intimidated and simply never ask any questions. However, I consider this a part of the training that the student is paying for...ask as many
questions that come to mind. Basically, learn everything that you possibly can during your CDL training. It will only make you that much
more prepared for the real world.

I have received emails and phone calls from recent CDL graduates asking for my help with understanding the proper way to do the log book. It
could quite possibly be that the class was a large one and it was just hard to follow for some. But, as a paying student, you should never feel left out of any aspect of the truck driver training. Any CDL questions you may have should be answered to your satisfaction before leaving the
school. You have that right.

Never feel as if you are isolated from the rest of the class in relationship to the training. You are paying for the school and you need
to receive every possible training tool that is available. Remember, once out in the real world, you will be responsible for handling a vehicle that
just happens to be the biggest thing on the road. Whatever you have to do...whatever it takes...get the answers for your CDL questions.

CDL Questions Beyond Truck Driving Schools

Personal Questions and Choices Drivers are Faced With

Finally, there are the questions that come up that are only thought about until after graduation. Many are personal situations the newly trained driver finds him or herslef in, such as questions about there past which they now find out may jeopardize their career. There may be a driving job decision that they now have to make and just don't know who to ask. Many times a skill that they thought they had mastered is now becoming more difficult and they don't know who to turn to.

Upon graduation, most graduates are faced with questions that even the most thorough and complete training facility can not prepare them for.
Usually these are questions that only experience can answer, or answered by someone with years of experience.

Whatever you have to do...whatever it takes...get the answers for your CDL questions. If you are a new driver and have a question out on the road, ask another driver.
You'd be surprised how willing to help most are.

Keep in mind, that at one point in every other drivers life, he or she was standing in the same spot that you are standing in at this moment. At one
time, they had no driving experience with the big rigs, and they had to learn and they did so by asking questions.
I have dedicated much time to the new cdl driver as I too was once a new driver and there were times I had wanted to ask another driver questions, but was reluctant to ask them. Sometimes I did ask, and I was glad I did.

The bottom line is, there WILL be questions that will hit you head on. Research, ask, do whatever it takes to get your questions answered. "Not asking" can not only be hazardous, but sometimes can be downright expensive....don't forget about DOT!

As elementary as this may seem, finding the answers to your cdl questions will only lead you in becoming a more safe and qualified professional truck driver.
