Truly unique cotton blouses, silver rings and cute dog coats...
I am not only passionate about fairtrade - I am also adamant that fairtrade fashion needs to be trendy, good looking and of outstanding quality. With that in mind I set out to source some inspiring and wonderful cotton blouses, handmade in Thailand. With fabulous hand embroidery and in adaptable colours. I have also sourced some stunning sterling silver rings in the process, also handmade in Thailand and a couple of cute dog coats. The latter are made from hand loomed cotton based on Inca designs and they are absolutely unique. something for the pampered pooch (of which I have three!). Everything sells on a first-come-first-served basis and as always I donate at least 10% of sales back to the community and/or a chosen charity. An eco friendly way to descale your kettle
Forget about nasty chemicals...
Okay, so I have road tested lemon juice and I have to say - it works! Fantastically well indeed. After a bit of experimenting and a few failures I got to the bottom of it. Use 30ml of pure lemon juice (buy in a bottle at the supermarket or health food store) add 10ml of water, pour into your kettle, switch it on, let it boil, let it cool down and pour the contents away. Rinse with plenty of cold water. If the lime scale hasn't vanished completely, repeat this process. Doesn't smell and leaves no nasty taste in your mouth....and is completely harmless. To you and your environment. Works very well in a stainless steel kettle (I haven't tried a plasic kettle - I don't like plastic as you know). Eco friendly wooden toothbrushes
BBC Breakfast television rates them "excellent"
Well, without much effort from my side thewooden toothbrushes that I started to sell on the Cebra website several months ago are rapidly proving to be my best sellers. A BBC journalist who lived for 30 days without plastics (tried to anyway) recommended them twice so far on breakfast news.She has had some rather nasty comments on her blog about the toothbrushes but 98% of people like them. Good! Because they are just as good if not better than a plastic toothbrush and they reduce carbon footprint (not increase them as some silly person insisted), they are made from managed forest wood (the company is a small business firm based locally in Germany), they last 3 months if cared for properly (i.e. dried off after use) and they can be composted after their lifespan expired.
My own dentist commented on my healthy teeth and gums at a recent checkup - when I showed him my wooden toothbrush he was surprised and after a bit of humming had to agree that this toothbrush is just as good as a plastic one. It all depends on your brushing technique and how often you brush your teeth, rather than all the fancy gizmo stuff manufacturers of toothbrushes sell nowadays. The proof is in the pudding - or in my healthy teeth and gums....
