Roller Coaster Capital!

Cedar Point Amusement Park is considered the roller coaster capital. It may be the home to 14 roller coasters but there is more to Cedar Point than coasters! There really is something for everyone! This lens will take you on a tour of the park and show you that there really is something for everyone! My family visited Cedar Point in the summer of 2008. My husband and 3 daughters rode as many of the roller coasters that they could. I prefer to stay on the ground and ride the rides that spin - like Tilt-A-Whirl (one of my favorites!) My mother was also on the trip with us and rode many of the rides (including the Big Wheel!). So there really is something for everyone! Come take a look and then book your trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park!

Cedar Point Amusement Park is over 134 years old. It has continually won awards for "America's Favorite Amusement Park" and "Favorite Park for Thrills" and numerous awards for it's roller coasters. In 1990 Guinness Book of World Records recognized Cedar Point as having more roller coasters than any where else in the world!

Cedar Point - World's Greatest Amusement Park

Cedar Point is the roller coaster capital of the world- it is in Sandusky, Ohio (U.S.A). It has been voted "World's Greatest Ammusement Park" for 12 years in a row, with 4 of the top 10 roller coasters in the world and some of the biggest and fastest coasters ever made. Cedar Point has 76 rides and 17 roller coasters. That's more rides and more coasters than any other park in the world! They have 68 places to eat, 21 shows, 14 hotel properties, 5 are right in the park and 3 are suites! Cedar Point also has it's own water park (Soak City) and Challenge Park right in the Cedar Point park. And the whole place is a big peninsula with a beach, surrounded by Lake Erie. Cedar Point is a coaster lover's dream come true. Thrill Rides. From rocking, rolling and rotating to being turned upside down, dropped suddenly or thrust upward at 50 mph, Cedar Point is a thrill-seekers delight! Carousels have captured the American imagination since their golden age during the 1890s through the mid-1920s perhaps like no other amusement ride ever has. Its something about the memories they invoke, their gentle whirling nature and how a simple spin on one of these beautifully classic machines can take you back in time. Cedar Point knows this feeling well. With three authentic operating carousels, Cedar Point is home to more than any other park in the world. Cedar Point is a child's ultimate playground! The park features four areas just for kids including Camp Snoopy, the Gemini Children's Area, Planet Snoopy and Kiddy Kingdom. If you like to spin, Cedar Point has just what you're looking for! For guests who prefer milder thrills, a variety of relaxing rides await you. Every member of your family is sure to find one that is just right for them. The cure for those hot summer days! From a gigantic tidal wave to churning rapids, Cedar Point has two water rides sure to cool you off! Theme Parks Magazine, based in Independence, Mo., is dedicated to helping its readers discover America's theme parks. With the average park visitor in mind, Theme Parks Magazine features eye-catching photos, in-depth park guides, feature stories and attraction profiles from a wide array of amusement destinations across the country. Family Rides at Cedar Point

There are plenty of rides that families will enjoy (even Grandma and Grandpa!). My families favorite ride was the Cedar Downs Racing Derby. It's a carousel, but not your typical, slow moving horses going up and down carousel! It simulates a race with the horses starting out slowing and then racing around and around. The ride tops out at 15 mph. There are 3 different carousels at Cedar Point.

There is also a train ride that will take you around the park or just from the front of the park to the back! Paddlewheel Excursions is a great way to slow down for a while and enjoy the park.

If you don't have a fear of heights you might try these two rides. The Sky Ride takes the riders 92 feet in the air down the middle of the Midway. The Giant Wheel is like a ferris wheel, but bigger - much bigger! The Giant Wheel is 150-feet. I gives a fabulous view of the park, Lake Erie and maybe even Canada!

Water Rides at Cedar Point

In 2010 there will be 3 water rides within Cedar Point Park. If you want to get wet but don't want to ride, Snake River Falls bridge is where you need to be. Standing on the bridge, the ride creates a 1,600 square foot wave. No one walks away dry!

You can watch the building of the newest ride (Shoot the Rapids) on Cedar Point's website.

Next to Cedar Point is a complete water park - Soak City. You can get all the thrills while getting wet!

Childrens Rides at Cedar Point

There are plenty of rides for children at Cedar Point. There are two areas for children - Planet Snoopy's rides are for the younger set (2 - 8) and Camp Snoopy has rides for the older crowd (8 - Grandma & Grandpa!).

Shows at Cedar Point

Cedar Point has 7 theatres to enjoy and get out of the hot Summer day (or rainy Summer day!). You can take 30 - 45 minutes and rest and relax and enjoy some future professionals! You can enjoy everything from saloon girls singing to ice skating (Snoopy on Ice!). All shows are appropriate for everyone in the family!

Come to Cedar Point to see another side of the park!
