Ceili Rain
Ceili Rain is a Celtic Christian band founded in 1995 by lead singer Bob Halligan, Jr. Ceili Rain performs a combination of Celtic, pop and rock music, creating their own unique sound.
Bob Halligan explains, in Gaelic, the word "Céili" (pronounced kay-lee) means "party" -- with live musicians, dancing, and general merriment. "Coeli" is a form of the Latin word for "heaven," Rain is English, meaning downpour. According to Halligan, Ceili Rain is a "downpour of heavenly partiness."
Ceili Rain is known for their uptempo pop-rock tunes that are heavily seasoned with Celtic riffs and instruments, and for the depth of their gospel message. The 40-some-odd band members and former band members list of Ceili Rain reads like a Who's Who in the Christian music industry and includes: Skip Cleavinger, Phil Madeira, Gretchen Priest, Rick Cua, Lang Bliss, and Sarah Hart among many others.
Ceili Rain has won several Wild Goose Award. The most recent Ceili Rain release is "I Made Lemonade" which was issued in July 2009.
