Celebrities Have Allergies, Too

Having a family memeber who is highly allergic to Peanuts and most other tree nuts, I wondered how many of our favorite stars are also suffer from allergic reactions. So I did a little research. There are a bunch of them out there. People like Ray Romano from the popular Television Cit-Com "Everybody Loves Raymond" is allergic to peanuts.

Having these allergies, actors have a specific hurdle to get over. If they are required to touch or kiss a fellow actor, they have to be sure that actor has not eaten peanuts within, at least, eight hours. Otherwise they may have a reaction that could be life threatening.

Below I have listed a few of our favorite celebrities who you may not have know to have food allergies, specifically peanuts. I think you might be surprise at who is on this list. For those of you who have these allergies, you don't have to feel alone. There are many people out there fighting the same fight you are fighting.

Trace Adkins' Daughter

Poor Little Girl is Allergic to Everything

Trace spends some time in this video talking about how his little girl is allergic to peanuts and dairy and several other things. He talks about having to change their lifestyle to make shure she stays safe. He also talks about how he has to carry an Epi-Pen with them everywhere they go. This is something that is hard for any parent, but it also makes it easier for parents who know that they are not the only ones who have to find a way to keep their child safe.

Peanut Allergy Symptoms

What to Look For If You Suspect a Peanut Allergy

I know you probably already know what symptoms to look for, but I thought I would go ahead and list the symptoms I know about in case someone who visits this site does not know. It you see that I have missed a symptom, please feel free to add it to the list below. Thank you.

Here is how we found out my daughter was allergic to peanuts. She just turned 2 years old and we decided it was time to start giving her peanutbutter. Peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches were a big part of our lives. It was easy to make them for an easy lunch. Now that I think about it, I kind of miss those sandwiches.

Anyway, my wife gave my daughter one of those peanutbutter and jelly pouches that you can buy in the grocery store. She took a bite, then spit it out. Right away the skin around her mouth began to break out into hives. I think we were blessed that day. Who knows what Might have happened if she had injested any of that peanutbutter. To make sure it was the peanutbutter that she was reacting to, my wife put a dab on the back of one arm and it immediately turned red.

We went on a mission to rid our house of everything that might have traces of peanuts in it. We stocked up on Benedryl and invested in several Epipens. Now everything revolves around keeping her safe.

I don't know anyone with a peanut allergy, but I know it's a very serious allergy. Just saw on the news last night that it is becoming more prevalent.

No I havn't and I have no issues eating lots of peanuts. They are very popular in India - specially during the winter months. Can't say the same about peanut butter.

No. The only people I know with peanut allergies are little kids. This was an interesting list though.
