Celebrity Cooks and Their Cooboks

Not long ago I read that movie star, Gwyneth Paltrow will be writing a cookbook for Janklow & Nesbit, one of the premier literary agencies in the world, to be published sometime this year. Who would ever have thought a movie star could write a cookbook?

It goes way back. A Vintage 30s Movie Star Celebrity Recipe Book recently sold, was peppered, (pardon the pun), with a variety of popular screen stars of the period, including Gary Cooper, Clara Bow, Fredric March, Mary Astor, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Irene Dunne, and a host of others.

Were they cooks or just actors displaying some of their favoirte recipes?

Is Gwyenth Paltrow an actor who cooks, or is she a cook who acts?

We'll have to wait for the dramatic conclusion, when the book hits the book markets.

It's Here! Gwyneth's Cookbook on Amazon

Award-winning actress and mother of two, Paltrow pays posthumous tribute to her much-adored father who passed along to her a deep love and appreciation for good food.

Dolly Parton and Trish Greenwood, not just singers.

type=text

Country music star and bestselling cookbook author Trisha Yearwood, has an encore cookbook featuring her home-grown cooking style.

Is she following in the style of one of the Country's great songbirds, Dolly Parton?

It wasn't that long ago, or was it, that Dolly's 'Dixie Fixin's: Love, Laughter and Lots of Good Food from My Tennesse Kitchen', was rivaling her recordings?

Main difference here is Dolly's recipes are from TN and Trisha is an Oakie! That could be a whole other story, not quite made for TV yet.

You Got to try it, even if you are on a diet!

Will She Invite Her 'Friends' Over for Dinner?

Will Tony Danza Clean Up Afterward?

type=text

The curtain is up on the news that Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Oliver are teaming up to write a healthy cookbook. True or just another Hollywood rumor?

We know she wrote the forward to 'The Family Chef: Make Your Kitchen the Heart of Your Family', saying "The beauty of spreading the secret of Jewels and Jill is, it can change lives."

We also know she is into healthy eating so maybe she and Jamie might be the next headliner cookbook duo!

I do know that former, "Who's the Boss?" star Tony Danza, and his son co-wrote, "Don't Fill Up on the Antipasto: Tony Danza's Father-Son Cookbook "

The book is filled with Italian-American family recipes. I've seen them on several talk shows cooking up in their fun Italian Style. Wonder would Jennifer let them do the dessert?

A Flash in the Pan--From the Dancing Man

type=text

Fred Astaire, not just a star on the dance floor. The son of an Austrian immigrant, Fred Astaire entered show business at age 5. With his sister Adele, Fred danced in cabarets, vaudeville houses, and music halls over the world before he was 20.

No cookbook attributed to him but I couldn't resist putting him here when I saw the photo of him. He was one of my favorites on the Big Screen.
