How to get an autograph

Golden Rule

From the time I was little I have always been mesmerized by celebrities. Be it sports stars, actors, actresses. I easily am swept away by the moment, I quickly return to reality when they walk away, and I'm holding their scribble on my tiny sheet of paper.

I have been fairly lucky when pursuing someone's John Handcock. Through the many years of my existense, I have managed to get a few. Let's see if any of these ring a bell. Nolan Ryan, The Minnesota Vikings, Greg Maddux, Ernie Banks, Minnie Pearl, B.J. Thomas, The Indianapolis Colts, and my Aunt had gotten Elvis, to sign an album of his, that she brought to the concert.

I will share the story of how I was able to get Greg Maddux to sign a jersey for me. I'll try and make this brief. My soon to be husband told me how much he liked Greg. So the seed was sown.

It was about six weeks till our wedding and we were spending our honeymoon in Chicago, watching not one, but TWO Cub's games. We would also be celebrating his birthday during that time as well. I wanted to give him a gift he would never forget. Long story short, I had gotten him a Maddux jersey, which I might add cost over $200.00, and promptly sent it away to Greg, at Wrigley Field. Complete with a heart wrenching story, (which was true), and a self addressed postage paid package. I mean for goodness sakes, this man was doing me a huge favor, I hardly expected him to pay to send it back.

I know what you're thinking, "Are you nuts?" No it's called love. The fear of losing the jersey did cross my mind, but the thrill of opening the package and seeing that signature was the most unbelieveable feeling you can imagine. And I did send him a thank you note.

So how do you get an autograph, be honest. Does it work everytime? Of course not, that's why I have done this site for you. Now you have a chance to have that favorite star's autograph. Will it cost you? Yes, but trust me, it's worth it!"
