Celebrity Coaching

Following the world of entertainment can provide you with hours of, well, entertainment!

What causes some celebrities to wreak havok wherever they may roam, while others maintain the grace and style we'd love to see more of?

Follow Donna and Natalie on a journey to discover how celebrities can leverage their success for happier lives!

My buddy, Owen

This is the stark reality of fame. No privacy.

There's this argument against defending celebrities that goes something like this: They knew what they were getting into when they signed up for fame.

Since that is truly one of the least thought out statements I've ever heard, pointing out the flaws is too easy. Shooting fish in a barrel easy. So I won't insult your intelligence.

I will point out that this past week Keira Knightley's complaint about fame and Owen Wilson's cry for privacy highlight just how important having support structures can be. All too often, celebs are flying without a net.

The people in their lives are usally too invested one way or another. Whether family, friends, business associates, agents, managers, etc etc, there is hyper attachment.

Celebrities benefit SO MUCH by having coaches. Well, actually everyone would benefit from coaching, but celebs have a more prominent reason for needing a non-judgmental, objective, detached collaborator.

There is nothing like being able to be completely candid with someone, knowing that you're not being psycho-analyzed, critisized, advised and scrutinized. It's freedom, baby!

If you haven't experienced coaching, there are several reasons to give it some consideration.
This list of International Association of Coaching's Coaching Masteries showcases at least an overview of what I'm talking about.

Imagine being able to just "be" with another person.

Nothing like it.

The most reasonable commentary on Owen Wilson I've seen

Yes, stars like Owen Wilson can hurt, too
He's a movie star in the prime of his career. He dates beautiful women. He has bags of money. He's the epitome of the life so many people would give their left arm for.

Coaching Comments on the Celebrity Life

Ethan Hawke explores difficulty of being a celebrity couple...or why it's easier to whine than look at the truth

"It's unfair when one person's career is taking off and the other is really suffering," the 36-year-old actor tells AMC's "Shootout" in an interview slated to air Sunday.
Ethan seems to believe that life has a guarantee of fairness. When we choose to judge something as fair or unfair, we risk cutting ourselves off from a greater truth. Right out of the gate, I'd be curious to know what he's really saying about fairness. I suspect he'd have a lot to talk about.
"What happens - it's not that they're jealous of each other; it's that the person you share your life with isn't in the mood to support," Hawke says. "You want to have a pity party for yourself, but they're off to the Golden Globes and you don't want to go because everyone is going to think you are jealous."
Are you sure it's not jealousy? Is there some kind of charge around that word that would prevent you from considering that perhaps you are feeling jealous?

His method for seeking support might need some upgrading. He'd have to disclose just how he goes about getting some of the attention he feels is lacking. This could be cleaned up quite nicely by exploring just what needs are not being met. It could allow some space for him to be brutally honest with himself about what he does need.

"There's a certain geometry to life - that life has a certain math equation to it and if you're never together, you can't build a home," Hawke says. "Joanne Woodward put her career on the back burner for that marriage (to Paul Newman) to last. And something's got to give."
He's made an assumption that you can't build a home if you're never together. I'd challenge that thought. It's a way to deflect the real issue, which is a little more evident in the second part: He suggests he was not willing to put his career on hold for the marriage, yet I detect a jab towards Uma for not halting her career.
Getting some clarity from him regarding what his expectation of home-building and career sacrifice are, might help him to understand that this is probably not an issue about celebrity marriage at all.
From there we could go all kinds of places and create all kinds of personal successes for Ethan. Divorce is not a pleasant experience, and with some time, Ethan my look back on the comments and recognize the emotion that drove them. In the meantime, I wish him well, and hope he finds the support he needs by genuinely asking for it, rather than feeling let down when it's not there.

How does Joe Public rate the stars?

The Difference Between These Two Celebrities is Stark...

"Why every celebrity needs a life coach!"

There are, we're sure, countless factors as to why some celebrities stay grounded and adored while others are prone to the jeers and jabs for reckless behavior.

These videos highlight what priorities the public exploits for each of these stars:
