Fashion Trends and the Best Shopping Sites - Celebrity Inspired!
I've combined my love of celeb style with my love of bargain hunting. This lens is dedicated to both as well as telling you about the latest fashion trends. Updated daily!
I love accessories! For very little green I can totally "upscale" a few basic pieces with the hottest celebrity inspired accessories like a funky beret, a chunky necklace or some hot designer inspired sunglasses.
Since accessories are my crowning glory, I usually spend a little more on the basics like jeans, dresses and tops, even if they're just tees. They last forever so I don't have to buy them as often. This of course means I have more dough left over to spend on the fun things - accessories! I think that's genius!
I'll be adding info and links on the hottest trends every day so please keep checking back!

Wayfarer Sunglasses - Neon, Checkered, Two-Tone and More!
Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be anymore color combos of the Wayfarer... there are. Which is totally cool with me! I own the Ray Ban Wayfarers in classic black and I also bought them in several fun colors in inspired styles. http://www.bleudame.com/ has them in some pretty sweet color combos... And 14 different styles! Neons, reds, two-tone, black and three different sizes - slim, medium and large. If you can't find the perfect pair (or pairs) here, then you probably won't find your Wayfarers anywhere.

Ways to Tie a Square Hair Scarf & Neck Scarf

Different Ways to Tie a Hair Scarf & Neck Scarf
Okay, I've noticed a lot of people asking how to tie a hair scarf or neck scarf. Here are four different ways you can wear a 40x40 square hair scarf. All of the photos above are of the same exact size scarf: 40x40. If you're wondering where the hair scarf came from, it can be purchased here.
1st way: Refer to the top left picture of the gold scarf. This is how a lot of big stores are showing their scarves on models. You simply take the square scarf and fold it down the middle to make a triangle. You then lay the tip of the triangle on your chest and wrap it around to the back and then come around to the front and tie it UNDER the front so it's hidden. Most people believe you simply tie it in the back. I suppose it can be worn this way but I much prefer for the ends to be hidden under the front. It looks much more polished and less cowboy. :)
2nd way: Refer to the top right picture of the black & white scarf. This way is probably pretty self-explanatory from the photo. You start out the same way as way #1. You simply take the square scarf and fold it down the middle to make a triangle. Then you sort of roll it to make a long scarf and drape it around your neck and tie it in a loose tie.
3rd way: Refer to the bottom left picture of the wine colored scarf. This is how you've probably seen Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie wearing their hair scarves. You start out the same way as way #1 and way #2. You simply take the square scarf and fold it down the middle to make a triangle. Then lay the center of the triangle with the point in the back. You may want to get someone to hold the scarf down on your forehead while you tie it in the back. It's very easy for it to slip while you are tying the scarf. So you take the ends and tie it OVER the point of the triangle at the base of your neck. Just tie it in a regular old knot of square knot.
4th way: Refer to the bottom right picture of the gray scarf. This way is also probably pretty self-explanatory from the photo. You start out the same way as way #1, #2 & #3. You simply take the square scarf and fold it down the middle to make a triangle. Then you sort of roll it to make a long scarf and drape it around your neck. This way is how I've seen Nicole Richie wear her oversized scarves. She drapes them around her neck with tanks and also wears them this way underneath jackets. It's very cute.

How to Tie a Hair Scarf like Kate Hudson in Fool's Gold

How to Tie a Hair Scarf like Kate Hudson in Fool's Gold
Kate Hudson had her hair scarf tied in a very unique way in Fool's Gold. It's the same way as seen on the model in the above photos. These scarves are available at BleuDame.com for just $8.80 each. Click here to see them. It's very simple to do too! (It's much easier to put your hair up while tying it whether if you are going to wear your hair up or down) Okay, instead of starting with middle of the scarf on top of your head, you start with the middle of the scarf on the back of your head under your hair. Then you simply cross the scarf in the front and then tie it back underneath again! That's all there is to it and it's a whole new way to wear your hair scarves!

Accessory Do's and Don'tsThe Fab 4 on Sex and the City make it look so easy. But we all know accessorizing's only fun until someone gets hurt. But I'm here to tell you there are ways to avoid the pitfalls of accessorizing and actually have fun while you're doing it!
DO YOU SUFFER FROM THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS?
Do you worry that your bag is a tad big?
Do you lie awake agonizing if the third bracelet being overkill?
And the shoes. Oh Lord the shoes. Do we even need to go there?
STOP THE MADNESS!
Clothes and accessories should be fun! And personally, I think the quirkier and more individual the style, the better! Carrie didn't get to be known as a fashion icon for following all the rules so why should you?
So here's an article to help ease your accessorizing worries. So you can not only look fabulous but you can do it stress free! Now how Sex and the City is THAT?
Accessory Do's and Don'ts
I love a good bargain and I've spent years scouting them out and figuring out how to get the best deals. I had the best teacher of all, my Mom, a major bargain hound. So here are a few of my tips to get the best bang for your designer buck.
I admit I used to be a little embarrassed when someone would find out what I paid for something. But even then the embarrassment only lasted until I realized that what I spent on six things, they usually spent on one. Now when I get a good deal, I make sure everyone I come in contact with knows. Those days of being embarrassed have been replaced with unadulterated pride!
TIP #1
The majority of a store's inventory is usually put on the floor at a certain time each week. For example, my local Ross puts a lot of their stuff out on Tuesdays. So ask the manager of your stores what day they do that so you can get first dibs on the latest looks.
TIP #2
Some stores tag their items according with a certain color to indicate the original cost, of that item. For example, Ross marks higher priced items with an ORANGE price tag so if you get your hands on one of these - and it's easy, they're all over the store - you know you got a real bargain.
TIP #3
Look for the Clearance signs. This sounds obvious and it is but often the best deals are tucked way in the back of the store, to the left, now right, now forward a few steps. There! So go up and down the aisles at the very rear of the stores. Oftentimes, they'll have end caps or sections that are barely visible unless you're really. And these are usually the items with the biggest markdowns like 75, even 90% off their already low prices. (ha! that sounded like their ad).
TIP #4
If you're short on time and need to get a particular item, stay the course and hunt for just that item. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in with the intention of finding a pair of workout pants and ended up spending 2 hours getting distracted by all the goodies and wound up with everything BUT workout pants. That's not always a bad thing, but....which takes me to Tip #5...
TIP #5
Block out a few hours. If you can, leave the kids and husband (especially the husband!) home and take a few hours for yourself. Just by taking my time cruising the aisles, I've ended up with the best things. I've gotten a lot of Christmas gifts months in advance this way at prices I could never hope for in December. So if you can do this, you may end up saving a lot of money, time and certainly last minute headaches throughout the year.
I know there are a ton more but I'll start here. I'll add to this list as time goes on so keep checking back!

ROSS DRESS FOR LESS
Okay, some people moan when I tell them I shop at Ross but I think it's silly not to shop there. You can save up to 70% on the same designers and brand names. You have to do a little more work to find what you're looking for than you'd have to at say, Macy's, but if you have the time, it's definitely worth taking a look.
Where do I head when I walk into Ross? To the rear of the store where you see those delightful orange "Clearance" signs. I'm not sure but I think I even saw a halo over one of the signs the other day. You have to dig a little to find what you're looking for but it can be worth it. If you're looking for a specific brand and style of glasses, you might be disappointed but if you go in the hopes of finding some really fabulous sunglasses, than it's totally worth it. They might not be the exact style Rhianna's wearing but oftentimes you can get pretty close.
What I usually shop for at Ross...
1) Workout clothes. They always have lots of Nike & Adidas.
2) Shoes & boots. I always find Steve Maddens and Nine Wests - cute ones too, not some grandma looking things.
3) Socks - I only buy my socks at discount stores. Ross seems to always have Gold Toe, which are my favorite, but they also carry a lot of the other name brands.
4) Bras/Undies - I had just come back from Parisian where I spent $32 on a Maidenform bra when I saw the exact same bra at Ross for $9.99. Same color, style, size, everything. As with my socks, I only buy my bras & undies at discount stores.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RUGGED WEARHOUSE
Ooh, I got a little tingle just thinking about this store. I don't know how many locations they have but if you even live within 100 miles of one, run don't walk. Rugged - yeah, I call it Rugged 'cause we're just that close - has some of the trendiest clothes and accessories for cheap cheap cheap. I'm talking Lucky, 7 For All Mankind, NY & Co, just to name a few. They have a wide range of designer jeans for juniors, misses and plus. I got several pair of The Limited Editor jeans for $7.99 each. The exact style that was selling at their store for $67. Not a thing wrong with them either. These are not irregulars. Ann Taylor pants for $12, and that's before they go on sale. American Apparel tees for $8, jewelry you see at the mall for $24 sell for about $3 or $4. As with any discount place, it's hit and miss but when you hit, man do you hit. And they have an entire men's section too. Not a skimpy little section in the back but a LOT of men's clothes. Oh and how could I forget the shoes? The shoes! They have a ton of shoes and boots, men, women and kids, in the rear of the store. Get this! I found a pair of Uggs - not Ugg wannabes but the real deal - for $19.99. Brand spankin' new for under $20! And that wasn't a further markdown price. But when they do put their stuff on sale, they really put it on sale. I came home the other day with some of the cutest American Apparel tops for .75 each! Like I said, run, don't walk!
What I usually shop for at Rugged Wearhouse
1) Tees (they always have super soft ones that don't shrink to Barbie doll size after one wash)
2) Jackets (a lot of super cute, trendy ones in the winter)
3) Jeans (got a pair of Luckys for about $15.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TJ MAXX
As you probably know, TJ Maxx is a lot like Ross but I think they carry a larger variety of better quality items. Like Ross, head to the back of the store for the clearance items. Since it's so similar to Ross, I'll just name a few of the things I like to get there...
What I usually shop for at TJ Maxx
1) Gifts (they always have a great selection of gifts, especially around the holidays. perfect baskets and goodies for the mailman, teacher, etc.)
2) PJs (lots of comfy pjs)
3) Handbags (good designer handbags at a fraction of the cost)
4) Men's clothes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MARSHALL'S
To me, Marshalls's in somewhere in between Ross and TJ Maxx in terms of the quality of their items. Listing it seems a bit redundant but it's definitely worth checking out if you have one in your area. I shop for pretty much the same things at Marshall's as I do at Ross & TJ Maxx.
ONLINE STORES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BleuDame.com
Okay, I guess you've probably figured out by now that this is my favorite online store for accessories. The reason I like this store so much is because being able to find what you're looking for on a shopping site is crucial to me. If there's too much going on or too many categories are offered, I admit I get a little rattled. Am I the only one who feels this way? Maybe I'm just neurotic. Anyway, it feels like walking into a super clean, organized, well lit store. I know if I walk to the right I'll see the sunglasses. To the left are the earrings. Well not really but you get my point. I don't have to think too much when I go there.
Since I'm such a celebrity style freakazoid I like that I can search by celebrity to see what they're wearing. They break their sunglasses down by style, ie; Aviators, Wayfarers, Vintage, etc which makes it easy. They also have the latest jewelry. I like a lot of the hippie style stuff they have now. They're also great with refunds. I got a pair that were super cute but I looked a little like a bug in them so I returned them and with no questions asked, they refunded my money the same day. And of course their prices. Designer inspired shades for around $12. And amazing sales like headbands for $1.47. And their shipping's cheap too. My friends and I got together and bought a bunch of stuff and it was still $2.95. My kind of store.
What do I usually shop for at BleuDame.com?
1) Sunglasses (no surprise there since I practically sleep in them!)
2) Hair clips (tons of cute, jeweled clips)
3) Bracelets (love the leather braided ones they have now.)
