Celtic Jewelry has long been treasured because of its uniqueness, beauty and symbolism.

Ornate and enchanting, Celtic jewelry is still highly coveted. Rings, bracelets, pendants, and brooches were so sought after for their beauty and style that, in days gone by, its trade around the Mediterranean became very successful.

These days, when one thinks of Celtic jewelry, the Celtic cross usually comes to mind first. This symbol has long represented the passage between heaven and earth. In some circles, it is thought that the four arms may also symbolize the four elements of fire, earth, air and water.

Infinite love is represented by the ring in the center of the cross; more explicitly, the eternal love of God.

This timeless piece of Celtic jewelry represents the high aspirations of the Celts. The same symbolic aspirations of a long and loving marriage.

Another timeless piece of Celtic jewelry is the Claddagh ring.

The creator of this style of ring was Richard Joyce who learned his jewelry making skills as a slave to a Moorish goldsmith.

Eventually securing his liberty, he returned to Ireland and took up residence in the village of Claddagh, close to Galway city. He continued as a goldsmith, producing Celtic jewelry and in particular, the Claddagh. It was created as a symbol for the love of his homeland and has now come to signify a pledge to marriage, love and affection.

This symbolism has made the Claddagh a popular and pertinent choice for a wedding band, with its crown signifying loyalty, its heart symbolizing love and its hands, friendship.

Platinum Celtic Wedding Rings For Men

While neither yellow gold or two-tone gold, it would be remiss to forget about the quality of platinum. As one of Earth's rarest elements, it is well-known for its resistance to wear and tarnish. All of the Celtic jewelry wedding band designs are also offered in platinum, making its symbolism even more appealing to those about to enter the union of marriage.

Here are some exquisite samples of what can be discovered among a large spectrum of platinum Celtic design wedding rings for men.

My husband and I had Celtic wedding rings that were yellow gold overlaid on rose gold. They were very pretty -- then we *both* lost them within the space of a month! We lived in an apartment complex at the time, and the only thing we can figure is that someone who came in to do maintenance swiped them. However, we are looking to replace them for our fifteenth anniversary.
